Yes, I see no reason why not. If the Earth is his Lego set then why shouldn't he build something and slowly adapt his model over time so that by the end it is quite different from how it started? If a child takes pleasure in building a car which he changes into a helicopter, then an aeroplane, then a spaceship, then if we are created in God's image, why should we think he is any different to that child? To create a Lego aeroplane fully formed by speaking the words, and puff, it's there, well.........that's just boring.
You're right! Just scratching my head why evolution was never stated in the Bible. I can only think of one reason. Because as it is, the Bible is already so thick, and the editors decided to leave out the nitty-gritty details, LOL.
Well it has taken a long time for someone to come up with that 'get out' to the illogical little world of blind faith. Now theists can believe in evolution and claim it to be one of God's creations. 'Well, evolution is fine and sound, it is, after all, one of God's creations'.
Yes, it is possible. The change in characteristics of mankind is a direct result of the power of God. Every human is created in his likeness. And, those who choose to utilize their spiritual powers continue the evolution process. This action is only diminished by those who choose to ignore the spirit.
Both concepts were theorized by man because he does not know his true origin. He is learning as he goes.
Yes. This seems to be the only theory than can reconcile the various other theories, chiefly creationist and evolutionist, with each other.
God is all in all. There is nothing outside of God. Whatever is created is from God, and that includes evolution.
"That which does not exist, can not come into being, that which exists, can never cease to be." - Gita.
To speak of evolution or God is to create them and if we do not exist, what is there to create? Creation comes from God and so does all else.
Absolutely, what a most effective method of correction and/or improvement. Perhaps, even a method of starting-over? It does make sense when you think how "Man's" one organ (in particular) evolutionized and seems to be our gem that enables us to resolve issues so easily, adapt most easily, reflect and stay alive. do you know what organ this is? It is our brain.
Even more important evidence exists to support this hypothesis; if you look at how we have indeed evolved it would be difficult to argue against a master's touch. We do not get bigger and bigger or faster and faster or smaller and smaller or change colors. One could argue that our "trump-card" is our wrinkled walnut containing over a billion neurons and able to out-perform anything else. It has enabled us to both master the planet and threaten our existence because it is so exclusively beyond what other known organisms possess...
Certainly. In fact, many tens of millions of believing Christians and Jews believe exactly this.
Further, if we look deeply from a philosophical perspective, there is no real way to distinguish between God's creation and the creation that arises from evolution. God's creation asserts a pre-existing mind with intentions. Evolution, properly understood through the eyes of General Systems Theory by Gregory Bateson and others shows that there is a fundamental intelligence in all life.
Some believe that an intelligent creator created life. Others believe that life is evolving to greater intelligence. From inside the experience, there is no way to know which one is right: It is a matter of faith or opinion.
Also, we now know that linear time is a limited view that doesn't explain all the realities we see. That is what we have learned from experiments in quantum mechanics. Take linear time out of the picture, and all we know is that Life and Intelligence are both here in Creation!
I have stated in previous answers and hubs that evolution was the tool used to implement his plan of creation and continued development of the world and the universe. There are just too many things in this world, including our own physical structure that make it hard to believe that things just developed by chance.
Sure God is God... I'd say anything is possible. I mean as a Christian I can't deny God's role in creation, but as a rational person, I can't deny the logic of evolution. So it seems to me they have to co-exist in some way.
I see God as the causal force that set the natural laws and functions of the universe into existence, evolution and gravity being just a couple of them. So, yes. I don't see why God would have used any other method of creation unless His/Her intent was to screw with the lot of us, considering the massive evidence supporting modern evo synthesis. Evolution is just a term we use to describe the natural order of things, and God is the God of Nature, so evolution is much more in keeping with God's orderly and logical nature than anything else, IMO.

What is creation? What are all the different ways of looking at creation? What are the possibilities in the question and in response to it?

Why can't God and evolution coexist?I am curious about the division between the concept of evolution and the religious mind... why can't God and evolution coexist? What are the rules that define the scientific process of evolution? Can those rules be applied towards religious belief?

Which is true - Creationism or Evolution? Can both be right? It seems there are still arguments about whether the world was 'created' or whether it 'evolved.' What do you believe? Can you also accept the alternative view?

Hi I would like to know, please, if any Christian members of this community accept evolutionary theory as true; or if anyone knows any Christians, who believe that evolution is true? Thanks

Why do people assume that it has to be creation OR evolution? Why can't it be that God used evolution to create? It is just that we have finally gotten to a level that we can start to understand some of the "how" God did what God did...or at least we can start to comprehend the tools God...

If you believe in your heart there is no God,there is no right or wrong, there is no creator,no absolute truth,no moral authority, then you must believe that nothing turns into chemicals, and chemicals turn into plants, animals and people, with no power, intelligence, purpose or design, leaving no...
