Has the word of Jesus been used or misused in the name of expansion?
While watching Django, there is a seen where a character is beating a woman, with pages of the bible attached to his shirt. I found this hilarious.
Well actually I have never did watch or even hear of this show until now.
I researched it and it says it is one of the most violent shows in American history
Although the bible never states beating a woman is ok, I think they may have made a mockery of the bible as a lot of it is Gods wrath and there was a lot of killings/punishments in the bible.
I myself would not think this too be funny, but like I said I have no clue on this show so this is only my opinion from the research I just did. It doesnt mean I am right. However not only a mockery to the bible, but never is beating a women funny or a joke.
I guess some may find it funny.
Have a good night
Laurie
Not only is beating a woman "hilarious," but with the pages of the Bible attached to his shirt is just down right preposterous.

I hesitate when I hear of see someone quote the Bible as their argument. I thought Jesus denied thatIf I lord the scripture over you, is that not exactly as the pharisees, scribes and Sadducee did, which resulted in the crucifixion? If I love you without the scripture telling me to, is that not...

I have enjoyed many "debates" with folks here on the Hub, but in the long run, its seems those that believe still believe and those that don't still don't. Why is this?Could it be, Christians, that we allow the nay-sayers to have their say while we are trying to not be...

If most of the Bible is written in parables then should the Word be taken literally? When the dicisples speak of the mustard seeds and moving mountains, we know it is a parable to apply to everyday living. But many times people use the Bible literally to prove their point of view. How...

Without delving into a lot of deep studying on the origins of words, I'll make a suggestion. Could it be that Jesus was redefining what God is when He called Himself the Son of Man?THink about it: He often referred to God as His Father, right? And then He refers to Himself as the Son of Man....
