Confused about bra sizing interactive online. Please help me pick the correct size.
Classic way = measure the band width, add 5 and them how many inches over is the cup size. BW=35.5, CW= 43.5 translates to a 40C the traditional way. I went to 2 different interactive sites and soma = 38DD & linda = 36H. Maidenform sized me @ US40C=UK40D=French105D=90D_international sizing. According to herroom they said, "The cup size calculation starts falling apart at 4 inches larger than your band size, and if you have droopy or pendulous breasts, your measurement will not be accurate" Then I go to 85b website and there a third measurement!!
All the measuring in the world isn't exact because of the differences in make from the manufacturers. If you want to find your exact size, you need to go to a lingerie store and get fitted.
I had to help a friend of mine find her bra size, and the best advice I got online was here although, in reality, the cup size was still off.

HubPages is obviously doing something with the links. It didn't like the one I posted, so I broke it down.
My women ask me. And I always tell them: Get one bra for high fallutin, get another for daily office, and get another for swinging the axe or jogging. Then go from there. Bras are personal. Buying them on line is a crap shoot. My wife needs 8.
Thanks Ericdierker. I have an Iron Maiden for when I want it High & Tight and an old flopsie for relaxing at home.. Will try on in person at fancy store then go online to see if cheaper for same model.
Most women wear wrong size bra, as they are confused about the size. Most wear bra too large at back with small cups. However, most women think that right cup shapes only make good bra. But that is not true. Look for bra with good band to support your breast properly. Choose bra with sufficient side coverage. Look for bras with well separated cups and fuller breast coverage. It is good to avoid plunge style bra.
