I'm so confused about how to earn money. Do I have to be an affiliate with Google, Amazon, AND Ebay? Do I have to have an account with Google Adsense? I tried to become an affiliate with Amazon and when I went to the website, I saw three different options to select and I had no idea what to click on. Could someone please help me out?
I have a google adsense account,..Origanally got it for my website. I haven't had it for long myself,..I wouldn't be the greatest person to help ya out really though,.Still learning myself, wouldn't want to guide you wrong when I know theres people here who are more pro statice. As for amazon and ebay I have'nt done those yet but I hear great things about them. I will say I heard alot of people didn't like Kontra. Be patient,..I am confident someone will help ya out. By the way,..I got to be your first fan,..Yea !!! Welcome to hubpages,..everybody is super nice here.
To earn money, you do have to join those affiliate programs. Reading this might be helpful to you.

My suggestion is that you're a HubPages member longer than an hour before trying to apply to these programs.
So basically, I have to sign up with these programs and then people have to click the ads when they're reading my hub? Is that it?
They don't have to. In fact about 5% might.
But before applying make sure you have a lot of good quality hubs behind you. And make sure you read the Google Adsense ToS. They'll tell you what you're allowed to write about (you can write about anything, but if you want to have Adsense ads on it, they dictate the terms).
If you're brand new to the whole world of Adsense, it's also a good idea to know that you can't tell anyone to click on your ads. Not just mentioned on your article, but in real life too. If a friend or family member get click happy in an effort to help reward you, your account will be closed. And they know how to track that sort of behaviour.
In order to earn from Google people have to click the ads.
In order to earn from Amazon people have to buy.
In order to earn from eBay they have to become members/buy.
If you sign up for Kontera, people have to click.
You have to put actual Amazon or eBay stuff on your Hubs yourself. Google puts ads, but you can have some limited say in what goes on them (through Google). You can sign up for whichever ones you want, but they do have to approve your "site", which takes a couple of days.
Oh, okay. Thanks so much. I was so confused with everything and the help section didn't really help much.
Stop by my two hubs: How HubPages Works and How To Hub. The Help is a little more formal in its approach, but my hubs are aimed at those new to the concept.
Alright, call me a fool, but I'm still lost. I just don't understand Google Adsense at all. Well just a little. I read all the information on it and it still doesn't seem to answer my question: When I sign up for adsense it asks me all these questions and gives me an html code and says to post it on my page. To my understanding, we're not supposed to paste html into our hubs, so what I'm I supposed to do with it?
Shakola - are you sure you've been approved for adsense already? From what I understand, it would be pretty unusual with just 2 days and 2 hubs under your belt.
If you know for sure you have, then you would have an adsense account number. You would enter that number in the appropriate box under "Affiliate Settings" within your account here at HP and at that point it should be self-explanatory. I think HP even gives you an example of what the adsense account number looks like so you can make sure you're on the right track.
She's probably been approved as she is being instructed to paste the html codes.

So, here is the deal. I have been witing and publishing for two years now on Hubpages, and have not earned one red cent. Why? I haven't a clue! Why? Because this individual is about as comfortable on a computer as I am standing nude on the front lawn. (Despite what you have...
