Are you in the path of Hurricane Sandy and that Superstorm cold front?
If so, what precautions are you taking, if any? Will you stay in your home or go somewhere perhaps safer? Do you think it will, after all this political brouhaha, disrupt the election?
Yes friend - we are. I am hoping it changes course. We are in Upstate NY. We are keeping a close eye on the weather channel.
We have rolled through many large storms but not one predicted to be this massive. I fill the Jacuzzi with water so we will have a large amount to give to the dog, as well as for boiling and cooking. We fill our own water containers for drinking.
Well, shining, sounds as if you are as ready as you can get. We hold good thoughts for all you from out here in the West.
Yes. We are in the pathway of Hurricane Sandy. I am near Philadelphia and thanks to a weatherman on one of the local channels, he mentioned that the Hurricane could hit this area to the point that it might end up like ground zero. I suddenly felt a little panicky but I realized that my faith in Jehovah God is strong so regardless of what happens, everything will be just fine.
My family and I had already started to prepare our bags in case of emergencies, thanks to the suggestions given by my Heavenly Father's earthly organization. I would like to recommend that each household prepare their emergency bags as well because we never know when we will have to flee due to a castasrophe.
We are in the path but I don't expect much more than having to hide in the house all day with potential power outages (they say the wind blows the wrong way and our power goes out here, it's that bad). We have a generator and plenty of gas. We just need to go shopping for some water and maybe some more just-add-water-type meals. Otherwise, I won't be too concerned until I experience it.
Yes, xstatic, we are in Sandy's path. Im glad I found this question cause I've been wanting to see how folks are preparing. I'm in DC so we're expecting something we've never seen. We caught the tail end of Irene when she became a tropical storm so it wasnt so bad (see my hub). This is the first time I've had a bad feeling about a storm. Being originally from Buffalo, NY I'm used to piles of snow and ice. I'm concerned about the power of this one. Anyway, I got supplies, will hunker down and ride it out. Good idea Angellady about the emergency bag.
Yes, right here around 30 miles north west of Atlantic City New Jersey.I have my tub filled with water,a way to flush the toilet. Alot of flashlights and batteries. Food and coolers with ice.
I'm in PA. It's suppose to hit us bad today and tomorrow. I let my dog out this morning and winds were already picking up. Getting ready for the storm is even worse. Yesterday, Walmart was packed with people rushing to get food. There was NO bread or water left on the shelves. I'm staying at home with the family.
Tess, I hope you found what you need for preparing for this storm. I also hope that the only thing you get out of it is a good poem.
Thanks xstatic I got what we needed. And I'm not much of a poet anymore
The heck you aren't! That last one got my atention and a lort of others too!
Others? My stats say not many others are reading my hubs. We need to talk more outside the comment arena, xstatic. You seem like someone with a great insight about things.
I'm in Virginia, been through Isabell(7o mile an hour winds for a day), and Irene. Last year knowing that the are going to be getting worse I started a pantry built and out house, but I still had to get some supplies. And no matter how prepared one is, one uprooted tree can change everything. So good luck to us all. As for the election, I have started asking people this same question. If millions of people can't vote can they even hold the election, what are the rules, I don't know do you?
I'm in East Tennessee, so we are expecting a quite a bit of snow and minimal wind gusts. God help those in it's path!
