An otter. They get to play with their food before they eat.

The dog and the wolf - they're beautiful, intelligent, love to learn. With dogs they are wonderful companions and friends and great for de-stressing you after work - well most of the time! But I'm an all round animal and nature lover.

Elephants. They are kind and gentle yet can have a temper. They also defend their young. They have huge ears which I love. They can also symbolize luck, prosperity, nurturing and wisdom.

I am in awe of the horse.  I don't own one because of where I live, but grew up on a farm and loved riding, grooming and just watching them. There is no one characteristic that makes them stand out for me, but their grace, perception and service to humans is second to none.

My favourite pet though - dogs - actually Rhodesian Ridgebacks.  They are nearly the size of a small horse, and I am fascinated by their antics and unconditional sufferance of humans.

Dogs are my favorite animal. I've always had a connection with them but my love for them grew when I got my latest one. She was thrown out of a car window by someone and therefore has a deformed paw. I love her to pieces. She always seems to know when I am down and knows how to make me feel better.
