   I am touched by the fact that HubPages mentioned 14-year anniversary celebrations traditionally include gifts of ivory, and you went on to research on the topic of ivory. Eventually you found out piano keys used to be made of ivory, and you introduce us to a great favorite pianist, Your Mom. I love music, singing songs and playing the harmonium. I have written articles about them here at HubPages.

      Excellent, insightful and informative read.
      Congratulations on achieving this wonderful milestone. So thoughtful of you write an article about ‘Ivory’. I enjoyed reading it, especially about your Mom.
      In India, Ivory is used in art and handicrafts items and in jewellery making too.
      Good of you to mention about the protection of animals. We have strict laws protecting the endangered birds and animals, and Government takes proper care of the protected and other species. There are several National Parks and Sanctuaries for this purpose.

   Happy 14th Hubiversary, Ann. This is a delightful article. I am glad the use of ivory is now banned in most places and anything made of it later than 1947 can not be bought or sold legally. Your mother must have been a wonderful pianist and it is good you have such pleasant memories of that.

   I enjoyed reading your article. Very glad to know that your mother was a good pianist. I had to search on internet to locate Metronome and found the Wikipedia article very comprehensive with good information regarding that product.

   14 years is quite an accomplishment here.
   Congratulations!!
   
   Your memories of your mother playing the piano are wonderful.   I guess I didn't realize those piano keys were made from ivory.
   
   I used to have alot of ivory vases saved through the years, but most have been lost along a few different moves many years back.
