    Stupidest thing you've ever done?

I just got my learner's driving license and after 6 lessons with an instructor started driving with my dad. I didn't learn how to park and we had to stop and park by a bank. I turned into a parking spot incorrectly, panicked, and for some reason pressed on the gas and ran into a car in the parking spot above mine. I'm such an idiot.

In 1999, I tried to drive back from Budapest, Hungary, to Hohenfels, Germany, with very little sleep. I almost went off a mountainside because they don't have guardrails and shoulders at all locations on the Austrian autobahn. I crossed the white line on the right and hit dirt, which almost threw my car off the road. Took a serious nap at the next rest stop, said heck with showing up for work on time. :-) (Mine is more stupid, if you're wondering.)

I wore two different shoes and didn't notice until I was sitting at my boyfreinds apartment and happened to glance down at my feet.  What a way to make an impression!  The relationship didn't last, but now I always double check my shoes before I leave the house.

We all do stupid things, but we learn and hopefully get smarter from our mistakes. Congratulations on getting your permit! It's a big milestone- you'll be fine.

After I first started driving, I was driving a bit over the speed limit thinking I was so cool, but when a car pulled out in front of me, I tried to brake and turn at the same time. Apparently when the roads are wet, you don't do either at higher speeds. Oops! Yes, I lived and I learned. Thankfully!

I agree with Theresa_Kennedy that we all do stupid things and hopefully we learn from our mistakes and not to repeat them.

The stupid thing which I have done was to hit into a kerb just after my parking test was over. Thankfully, I had completed the parking test and was driving to park the car back in its spot. I hit the kerb, managed to reverse it out and had about 10 driving examiners and more than 100 learner driving students looking at me. I was afraid to do such an act during my driving test but it was an unintentional mistake and i got my probabationary licence which was soon converted into a full fledged driving licence after 2 years.

I haven't hit any kerbs since then.
