Writing Articles for SEO Traffic

Updated on May 21, 2012

There are many people out there trying to see a variety of different things. The largest difference between the ones that do well and those that do not. Is related to the search engine optimization they do in their marketing. With millions of people searching online there is going to be people that want to do business with you. The biggest excuse I hear all the time is that I’m not a professional writer. Well, you’re going to have to do your best to become one if you want to get traffic and make sales. The writing part is not the hard part anyone can write an article on any topic. The hard part of article marketing is designing it with just enough SEO so that traffic will find it and then find you.

These are the 5 best tips to writing articles for SEO.

1.Choose your topic.

The first thing that needs to be done when writing an article for SEO is to choose a topic. You can choose any topic you like in any niche that you choose. However, you first have to understand the type of people you are writing an article for. So, first do research on the niche you are trying to target. What kind of questions are they asking? Are there any solutions that you can provide them? Ask yourself, what you are going to say then construct it in a meaningful and well written way so your audience will respond to you.

2. Create a Title.

When choosing a title for your article in a SEO friendly manner. Think about what someone would be searching for as a phrase. For example, “How to write SEO article” or “Best ways to Write SEO articles” These are phrases someone searching for this article might use. So, I have incorporated both key words SEO and article into the title. This can make a huge difference in the type of traffic I receive and how much of it, I actually receive.

3. Research Keywords

This is one of the most important steps in writing a decent article that will receive traffic. You should have a small list of keywords that you are using. You can use a free keyword tool like Google’s Keyword tool. You can type in phrases, of text to see which ones match what you are writing about. You want to place your targeted keywords all over the text of your article. Place keywords in the top, middle, and at the end of your article. The idea is to have about 1 percent or 2 percent keyword density in the article. If, you have too many in there then it makes the article sound and read awkward which people will be put off by and as a result, your reputation will suffer. It is always a great idea to use keywords that are similar. For example, “writing SEO articles” or “write a SEO article.”

4. Define your expertise.

Writing articles for SEO need to be well written and informative. If, you write an article that is just rambling on about something that is common sense people will just leave. If, you write an article and it has informative information, tips, and hints that they can do themselves on a topic then they will see you as an authority. SEO article writing is a fantastic way to get people to trust in your opinion and your expertise. Once they do they will be more likely o go to your website and eventually do business with you.

5. Simplification is key

A lot of times even though we are experts in a certain niche it can be easy to over complicate everything. This leads to confusion and frustrations for the reader. So, always keep the information clear and to the point. Give the reader what they are asking for. If they are asking for information on “article writing” then talk, about that. Do not ramble on about anything not related.

So, take your time writing your articles. Follow the 5 steps above and your articles will be a great example of high quality, well written, perfect SEO articles that will help drive traffic and additional business to your website.
