What if I quit my job? Can I draw unemployment in North Carolina?
If you elect to quit a job, you really cannot draw unemployment. Unemployment is when a person has been forcibly discharged(fired) from a job. If you elect to quit a job, you better have at least a year of savings in your bank or other liquid investments. In addition, you should have another job lined up if you do quit a job.
I would agree with gmwilliams, usually if you quit a job you are not entitled to any benefits. It is the same here in the UK, the only time you are entitled to benefits here is through redundancy or if you cannot work due to an illness or disability.
