What are the few important things one should consider before you select a graduate level program?
If somebody is planning to continue his/her education at the graduate level, there are a few important things one should consider before to select a program. What are they?
As a college professor I can suggest the following: 1) look at costs and make sure you will not go into too much debt; 2) research the department's faculty to see if they are current in their fields (check publications); 3) if you have to move, make sure you can afford where you will be living; 4) have a plan to make ends meet. I remember having cardboard furniture and reading books at B and N b/c I couldn't afford a thing! It was worth it in the long run!
