Writer's Envy - I Wish I Had Written That
I've been hit with a bug that I never expected to catch here on Hubpages. It is a bug called "Writer's Envy" and it will turn you LED green with envy while the neutrons in your brain attempt to beat themselves to death. Have you had the experience?
It happened today when I read a new hub written by a new Hubpages friend. Now, you have to understand that I love humor but I rarely laugh out loud. Don't ask why because I really can't explain it. I'll chuckle a little bit or suppress a giggle so that it's not much more than a whisper, but to laugh out loud, from my gut, well, it rarely happens.
As I was saying, I was reading the hub today and each paragraph got better and better and I realized I was sitting here alone, laughing OUT LOUD. I mean really OUT LOUD. It didn't occur to me right away because those little things in my brain were screaming... "brilliant"..."damn right"..."why didn't I think of that?"...."you're a genius"....and then..."I WISH I HAD WRITTEN THIS".
It's just one of those pieces of writing that puts a real spin on reality. It could actually scare the crap out of you but the concept behind it is so brilliant that you forget to be scared. Oh damn I wish I had written it. But then, I couldn't have. It wasn't mine to write because I don't have such a quick wit as my friend. I wish I did.
Have I told you today how much I love Hubpages? The writers here are just incredible whether they are creative writers, political writers, poets, chefs or comedians. Some are all of these in one fine package. They really are the best of the best.
Well, since I couldn't write it, I at least want to share it with you. Please click here to read this brilliant piece of work by my friend billybuc. You're just gonna love it.

Update December 2012
Since I wrote this hub, my friend Bill has written some other incredible pieces. His most recent, about a White Christmas is amazingly beautiful. Bill also wrote a piece on Native American sovereignty that has generated a valuable discussion here on Hubpages and I hope that one goes viral. It is a discussion that needs to be held in a larger arena.
Another amazing writer that has warmed my heart is my new friend Amy Becherer. Amy is a poet extraordinaire. I am not a poet but Amy puts words together and paints the most beautiful picture. The first poem I read of Amy's was titled Complexity on Canvas. If you have an affinity for poetry, you must visit Amy here on Hubpages and read her craft.
Finally, if you enjoy limericks, then I'd like to introduce you to Martin (Mhatter99) who is the guru of the limerick. This guy can write a limerick about anything, anytime, at the drop of a dime. For a simple of Martin's limericks, read about the lucky rabbit's foot.
There are hundreds of great writers on Hubpages that I could easily promote. I'll save some for next time but if I could write like any of these I've mentioned, I would be on the headlines in some newspaper. I know you'll enjoy them as I do.
