   Have you converted a research paper into a hub?
   
   I've given a  lot of thought to converting some of my research papers into hubs. Have you done this. If so, what were the results?

   Interesting idea--except all the research papers I did in college are now almost 35 years old and besides that I do not have them. I have used data that I researched in my last job but have not used any of the position papers or legislative analysis I did for a Hub topic.

   Yes I have.  At least 12 of my hubs are actually re-written high school or ENG 101/102 papers.  Ironically, those hubs are some of my best performers.

   I have posted essays of mine, which focus on history or philosophy. They do not get many reads though. In my opinion, scholarly works are a little on the heavy to read side and many people either do not have the patience to sit through ten pages of reading material or perhaps find the writing too dense (i.e. my essays on metaphysics).

   I have used two of my history research papers as a basis for hubs.
   
   I do not just copy my research papers though. I just use the information and add nice extras such as video. So you may say they are enhanced versions of my research papers.
   
   One of these conversions about Hannibal and the Battle of Cannae has consistantly been in my top five viewed posts for eighteen months. The other, telling the story of the Peterloo Massacre in Manchester, 1819 has a slightly less broad audience but is in the top half of my viewed hubs on a consistant basis.
   
   History has proved a good subject for my purposes, providing lots of evergreen content. Research papers are a good source, but bear in mind using added features found online can make them eaven more impressive.

   My research projects - not so much, but a few of my hubs are indeed reworked and tweaked papers from some of my writing classes.  Mostly it is essays I have converted.

   I actually converted my capstone paper into a few hubs and it's done fantastically. I've gotten comments from a couple people who have actually said that they helped them with school. The most important thing to do is to not just copy and past it into a hub and publish it. Writing an essay is one thing and writing online is another so be aware of the different audience you are trying to attract.
   
   I think that if you decide to do it, make sure the title is search friendly and that you divide it into enough hubs so that it doesn't seem overbearing for the reader then you should do just fine. My own essay was about twenty pages so I divided it into six hubs. I've been told by many people that converting papers from school into hubs is one of the best things to do. Don't put all that time and research to waste! Go make some money off of it!

   So many great answers. i have a research paper that work on right now. As I do it, I'm writing short hubs that will lead from one topic to another. I'll make sure that they are search term relevant. I'll have to track there results and report back.
