I've never voted a "thumbs down" on any hub, regardless of errors or the tone and nature of an article. If a hub is filled with errors or it is politically charged and I disagree, I may respond, but I do not vote it down. Am I shirking my responsibilities to HP? I know this may sound naive, but I seriously don't know the answer.

Your answer makes perfect sense to me.

I certainly understand your point. Many that write here have English as a second language and we need to have patience with all people who wish to express their thoughts.
I've never given a thumbs down on a hub, nor have I ever flagged a hub.
Your answer makes perfect sense to me. I consider hub hopping different than reading and commenting on regular hubs.
