What happen to the thumbs up vote and awesome, beautiful, interesting, etc.?
I am not seeing the vote up or other votes on any hubs? Is there a glitch or is it just my computer? Thank you for answering.
Hi Faith. A new update to HP design has removed the votes on hubs. See:
http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/132577
Oh, wow, really? I guess I need to start following forums as I always seem to be out of the loop. I noticed the new layout and more hubs showing. I am glad about the thumbs up/down as I think it was abused. Thank you!
Wow, that stinks. I always make sure I vote and click. Bummer!
Yes, Sha, I was always mindful to vote up and across as appropriate on every hub I read too. However, I think the thumbs down was abused by those just happened to disagree with the topic even if well-written.
I am rather sorry to see those buttons gone. But then we still have the option to comment and let the author know we enjoy the hub.
Yes, Phyllis, we can still tell them awesome and all else for sure. I always made sure to vote up and more ...plus share as it is so important to show support.
Oh no, they are gone. You're right! They were there earlier today.
Yes, Al, they now have a new design of the layout and more of our hubs show up plus others w/ the icons larger too, which I like Phyllis' link to the forum explains they are phasing them out. I think the vote up/down was abused anyway. Blessings
Yes, I noticed that too. Thanks for the information and the link. So we can't vote for the hubs now! Not sure whether its a good change or otherwise. Anyway we will get used to it.
'Change' is sometimes for the better!
Thanks!
Hi Chitrangada Sharan, Yes, it will take some getting use to and hopefully the new changes are for the better. I think the thumbs up/down vote was abused by some, but I did like voting interesting, etc. Blessings
I noticed the same and the forum discussion http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/132577. That's a bit disheartening. I used to like voting up hubs of my interest. The changes might even be for good. We'll have to work harder on publishing high quality, reader engaging, search engine friendly hubs with only the Featuring of hubs through QAP and reader comments as our guidelines.

Hi D A run, I did too and always voted up and more, but I know many did not bother. Plus you gave trolls who vote down just because which is not right. Yes, I do hope do publish their best.
I think hubbers will work harder! You still have the option of sharing the hubs and that's good.
Yes, I hope they don't take the sharing buttons away. Hopefully, we all do our best at all times. Thank you for answering.
I enjoyed this feature because it was a convenient way for people to leave feedback on hubs who may not have had time to comment. I enjoyed seeing how people reacted to my hubs and this change disappoints me in a major way. Many blogs have features like this - star ratings, emoticons, votes etc. It seems silly to me to do away with something that provides feedback for the writers. I'm rather annoyed with this change honestly.
Hi Christin, I did use it too all the time and was mindful to vote up and more, plus share. Thank you for expressing your annoyance with this change. I think the thumb down was abused by the "haters" as they say.
Yes, D Arun, true! @ Christin, are my eyes failing me, but you don't look like you used to in your profile pic ...I thought you were blond for some reason. But, hey, you are beautiful regardless...I just did not recognize you!
I just found out a few minutes ago about it but I think maybe it is a good thing. We can still share and that is what I always thought was more important so maybe HP sees it that way too. I know we both have our suspicions about the down button, lol so we no longer have to think about that and maybe people who like a read will be more apt to share good reads now they have less to do! lol
It will be really interesting to see the outcome of it I think!
I saw it right away last night as I wanted to vote up and all ...Yes, as long as we can sgare which is real important and I know you share like I do to support others. I am glad the thumbs down is gone as it was abused.
I noticed it right away, because I always use it. It's sad ... I liked that feature.
Hi Fay, I used it all the time too. At least we can share still. I think those who may have not liked a topic of a hub would vote down even if well-written, so I'm glad about the thumbs down being removed.
I don't know whether I like this or not... My first reaction is no, I don't. I used it to simply tell degrees of like. I would comment and then be able to say I think this was awesome etc. But maybe this even things out so we actually have to communicate in WORDS and ideas rather than a quick series of buttons and on to the next read. I will look at this positively. Bob.
Hi Robert, thank you for answering. Yes, that is about all we can do now is communicate in words, which is always what I did before, plus vote up and more ...oh well. I am mindful to share too. I think trolls are prone to vote down to be mean.

I have a question about the blue thumbs on Hubs. If I click on the thumbs up, I also can click on the reasons i.e.; interesting, funny, beautifu, awesome, etc. What happens if I read a lens and feel it should be reported for some sort of abuse? Do I give it a thumbs down, and if so, does the writer...

I was just wondering, if you read a well written hub but it was something controversial that had a different opinion than you had, would you rate it thumbs down because of that or would you rate it on the hub itself ( written well, lots of information, good layout?)Just wondering because I write...

Often, we'll be reading Hubs to find a specific answer or solution to something in our lives. And often, we'll get to the end and be "too busy" to rate it. This is understandable; I do it too. Even though I know that by giving a Hub a Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down, I will be...

I can't see any rules about rating hubs with a thumbs up or down and would like to know how frequently you can rate the same hub or is it just once, and can you rate your own? I ask these questions because on some sites for bands where you can vote for songs or acts in some you can vote daily and...

I recently wrote a hub on this and have gotten some good responses from it. I was wondering, does anyone have any sort of method that they use for writing comments for hubs? Do you just write comments on hubs that you like? Do you comment on all the hubs that you read? Do you also give a...

Is there any way to tell if a particular hub has received any thumbs up or thumbs down, and if so, how many? I've been here long enough, I should know these things. But I don't.
