Why did I get this in a forum I created?

Sorry, you are not allowed to post
Your posting privileges will be reinstated in about 3 days.

Somebody is not liking what you have to say. "It's a business, it can do what it wants"

Maybe you've had a heated exchange with someone in the forum or it appears that you're making too many comments in one discussion that come across as argumentative. It only takes one person to "flag" something and after it's reviewed if the reviewer agrees it could cost you posting privileges I suppose.
At any rate 3 days is better than being banned for life. smile

I've followed that thread. Northing he said was ban-worthy. I think it's a certain group of "regulars" who don'tt like WHAT he is saying. They have power to remove, IMO. Not good for free speech. At all. Especially peoplepower, a stand-up guy. Nogood

I was banned from the forums for 3 days for saying someone sounded like an idiot.  So I'd guess you said something that offended someone and they reported the post.  I don't think it takes much in these forums so best to be careful with your wording in the future.  smile

Hmmm, but you didn't say "you are an idiot"....should not have been banned, imo. Because once TM Mason said "This is why you have no credibility with me" and I said "You have no credibility with me either". I was banned---he not. Direct insult only.

I tend to agree, but it was only 3 days.  Plus the person on the receiving end was very adament that I was being offensive, so that probably helped.

I would bet my LUNCH said person is 10 times more offensive than you could ever be. That's usually how it works....People crying mistreatment are the worst offenders.

Thank you everybody for your comments and support.  I think it was probably the guy that I told "You don't know what the h*ll you are talking about."

Well then, let's hope Cutler got a ban too, as he called you a dummy and referred to A Prime as A Primate.

Yes, Cutler got banned also.. He's posting a similar question.

Well that's an easy one! He called someone a dummy and another one a primate...pretty clear cut there.

Me thinks that you were probably banned as a result of a perceived personal attack or incessant bickering.  People & the other person involved in the discourse reported you because they perceived the aforementioned to be so.  However, it is BEST to contact team@hubpages for the real/exact reason you were banned. So sorry to hear that you were banned.  You are one of the nicest hubbers around.

Well it takes 2 to bicker....what about the other one? Banned, too? Or allowed to go on bickering?
OR--allowed to freely express their opinion, while silencing others!

Can't answer the question, but I'd just brush it off.  HubPages doesn't really have a staff -- maybe 20 people at most -- and probably most of them fresh out of college, not earning more than $10.00 per hour.  You've certainly noticed they don't have a help center.  They shift this burden to the users.  The company provides no instructions, no beginner's guidance, no problem resolution.  I'm sure you've figured out their scheme for making cash -- let saps like us provide content that can be configured with advertisements, then sit back and take a nice cut.  In short, their philosophy is to do as little as possible to maximize their profits.  It's cheaper to shut you down than to do any real analysis or investigation.  They don't even send out 1099 forms.  Again, they place the burden of tax reporting upon the members.  The guys who formed the site (former Microsoft employees) just want to sit back and reap the rewards without having to lift a finger.  It's a nice scheme, and I suppose they are doing well.  Maybe you read the recent news report that HubPages is reducing the number of days that their employees have to turn into work.  It's no wonder since almost everything is automated and their tiny staff isn't required to do much of anything.  Since nothing like arbitration exists in this Hub-world, from a member's standpoint it's less aggravating to just allow the lower echelon to inflict undeserved reprimands.  As far as HubPages is concerned we're all just whores.  We may take the craft of writing seriously, and they are happy with that if it results in more hits to our pages, but with thousands of members in their collective, individuals and their gripes don't amount to a hill of beans.

I'm not brushing off discrimination--it's foul! I want to know who runs this cabal of silencers.I believe in the 1st amendment-ok, around here, the 2nd is all that matters:but still- it's a friggin writing site, not a political one-Drupe from Guadalupe

Sandie:  You are contradicting yourself.  You recognize that the outfit is a kind of "cabal of silencers" but still expect full freedom of speech.  In a cabal, they write the rules and govern as they see fit.

Well it wasn't included in the sign up. And how come their rules trump the 1st amendment? It'd be one thing if they were distributed equally, but they're not. It's discrimination based on political/world view. Not allowed in America.
