   Well, I've clearly been part of the problem as opposed to being part of the solution.  I just looked and realized that as part of the flagging options you have "Low Quality" and "Spam" which have generally escaped my notice.  Generally If I flag something it's because of other issues.  Clearly though to help to maintain the integrity and quality of the website, the garden could use some weeding now and again.

   Let alone the idiotic questions, the repeats kill me I flaged a couple and then thought I'm too new to do anything of that sort.

   Active Hubbers should take out some time to flag poor questions. Its not much to ask.. I do it each time i come to answers page and flagging one takes just a few seconds. It helps control the quality of content we have here. Still I think Hubpages has not taken adequate steps in checking the quality of questions or answers that are posted in the Hub community. There are so many spam and overly promotional questions in the forums and answers sections and they last there for so long. They should have some moderators or something to keep a check on that. And Hubbers, please do your part. Just a couple of clicks is all it requires.. Its no big deal!
   PS yeah sofs, the repeats are so irritating. I flag a couple of such repeats and let Hubpage do the rest.

   This is an answer I got yesterday:
   
   "A pat on the back for flagging someone's post, I'd say a kick in the arse would be more appropriate, jackwagon!"
   
   It's not exactly what I'd call encouraging and yet I agree, if people are going to abuse the system, their posts should be flagged.
   
   One big issue is, I have not yet received an email to tell me whether my the flags I have raised are right or wrong, so I still have no idea whether I was being harsh on posters and actually spotting spam or poor posts.
   
   Again, not exactly what I would term as encouragement.

   Do Hub Pages really care about all the illiterate questions, idiotic questions, the askers who don't know the difference beween a statement and a question, the questions written in gibberish, in text speak, in foreign languages, the spammers, question by people who have difficulty in putting two words togetther, let alone write a sensible question...
   I'm saying, not really, every question raises a new page with adverts on it for people to click - revenue - they don't give a monkeys as long as people are clicking the ads, as long as there are new pages for ads.  When someone flags a question, how long does it take for some action, an age.
   There was a suggestion that we should be able to up/down vote questions, might work, but will HPs be willing to give over control, I doubt it.

   I don't believe that the "flag" button has a thing to do with the quality of the question being asked, but rather is a button intended for notifying HP moderators of inappropriate content or language in a question, or to make it aware to HP moderators that a questioner may be antagonistic, rude, or otherwise. No one should be, IMO, flagging a question for any other reason.
