What things, events, occurrences etc make you say 'The Simple Things In Life'
Sitting on the deck on my day off with the dog at my feet and a good book in my hands.
Sitting on the deck in the early morning hours as the sun is just beginning to rise and the world / neighborhood is just coming to life.
Sitting on the deck on a warm summer's evening sipping a glass of wine as the sun begins to set.
Walking the dog through a quiet neighborhood.
Sitting at the edge of the ocean, on the beach, watching the waves on the shore.
Being with family.
I've been taking morning walks with my dog, and I hope it becomes habit. We are gone for an hour every morning, and it's an Open Space surrounded by two golf courses, country club, high-end homes, and away from the usual suburban scene of lookalike homes and strip malls. After being attacked several times by loose dogs in my neighborhood, I have finally this safe haven where everyone follows the rules and keeps their dogs on leashes. It is a very peaceful place along with a salmon habitat (creek). People run, bike, walk, and ride horses. It is the perfect place for anyone to escape suburbia--even for a brief time.
Mine would be (and they're far from unique or interesting) fresh air, sunsets, sunrises, and a really good cup of coffee.
Spending time with my daughter in my bedroom. Before she left for Australia, she would usually come in at noon, turn on the TV, turn on her laptop while I have mine, have her cellphone for all her messages (nonstop) and through all this, tell me things about her life. Those were cozy times, and I am glad that I experienced them with her.
Watching and listening to the falling rain, while sitting on a covered porch
Oooohh, that's a great one! One of my new kittens is sitting on my lap right now, as I attempt to type, watching and gently touching the key board. His sister is curled up on the dog's pillow sleeping....the house is quiet and my nephew has gone to bed. Ahhhh, peace.
watching the hummingbirds feed at the birdfeeder I recently put up
Being with my grandkids...the utter joy that I get, just being around them.
Lot of good ones here. I especially liked the rain-porch one.
Reading a good book.
Watching a good movie.
Listening to a favorite song.
A good cup of coffee.
A few minutes awake in bed with my hubby and my puppy before getting up to start the day.
An unexpected connection on Facebook.
