Okay, so I figured I'd never complain about having a hub "not approved"... and I'm still not. However, I would like to know what is preventing this hub? It's not overly long, but I have shorter hubs and many poetry hubs are even shorter than this, and I'm speaking of featured hubs.
It's a little "dirty" by some standards I guess, but there is no inappropriate language and I thought it was "tongue in cheek". I'm ready for the darts people, don't hold back. :-)

Hi Cantuhearmescream! I do not know exactly what was going on in the mind of the quality raters who reviewed your Hub, but the gist is that they did not give it a high enough rating for it to be Featured.
To provide a frame of reference, this is the rating scale that our raters use for Creative Writing Hubs: http://hubpages.com/help/hub_hop_table#creative
Typically, we recommend shooting for something that meets the criteria of an eight+ Hub, as that is well above our minimum threshold.
Hope that helps!
Thanks Simone, I will absolutely check the link out.
Phew, I was most afraid of you... but that didn't hurt at all. :-)
That's why you need to focus all your attention to your blog...you can still earn money...and you won't have all these crazy restrictions holding you back...you can be yourself.
True, but I really would like to know for future reference where I went wrong... word count, pictures, language? Ya know? Oh yeah and the 2 people that visit my blog a day is a little depressing :-(. Not that I can blame them, it's cheesy and new.
Yes, it is harder to get readers when you run your own blog...but on the flip side to that you won't be restricted like you are on Hub Pages...you have to take the good with the bad.
You have some really awesome blog/sites going on. I feel like I've invested a lot of time on Hubpages (Yes, I know 2 month member) but anyway, I'm spending 15 hours a day on here. I would like to get a little more serious with the whole blogging thing but I'm all over the place with it. I don't really know what I'm doing. I'm definitely going to try to build it up, but I don't want to do it at the expense of my hubpages right now either. Nobody knows I exist in the blogging world at least 50 people or so know that I'm alive around here. :-)
You have invested a lot of time on your hubs...and it shows...you have done great work. I was once there myself...but because of the reason we've spoken about I moved on. It does suck to start over...but it's so worth it.
See you have the perfect combination going on. You have built a nice foundation here and also have awesome sites/blogs (I don't even really know the difference). I would like to do the same thing... hey, I'm puttering, I'm trying, I'll get there... but you better not forget me along the way; you're stuck with me now!
Girl it's hard...it takes time...but with hard work and determination you'll make it.
You're a great writer...you have a lot to offer...and you're very funny…your work shouldn't be restricted and tamed...it should be wild and crazy...just like yourself.
You know I don't want to get rid of you...you're my girl…you’re stuck with me for life baby.
Aw, gee Michael, I appreciate that. I feel the same way ;-)
Where on earth do you get your inspiration? Every story you write I think "hey, he's right, why didn't I think of that?"
It's all thanks to my dysfunctional life...and my good sense of humor...which I got from my mother.
All the more reason I love you so much :-)
Hey...wait I can't reply to your later posts...what's up with that. By the way...you're freaking hilarious..."hub love"...as if I didn't already know that.
Yeah, there's a whole forum about it. I'm really angry; grrrr! I don't want to take the time to read someone's hub and then not comment on it. It's like not signing the book at a funeral! So now I have all these tabs open because I'm awaiting leaving a comment!
You are doing great Cantuhearmescream Patience Girl. It seems these things take time and a few knocks along the way. Just keep on doing what you are doing, writing.
sallybea,
I really appreciate it. I've had a few bumps along the way but usually figure it out on my own. I was particularly afraid to ask about this hub because it is a litte "saucy" as Theophanes put it. I figured the daggers would come out, but instead you all have been very supportive. Thanks!
Hmm. You must have put a lot of work into this, but I recommend you read http://petenali.hubpages.com/hub/What-i … -write-one You'll find that your limericks don't actually qualify as limericks. Ouch, I know.
Okay, I'll check out the link and I appreciate it. Thanks
You also seem to be using some copyrighted pictures, some of which are pixelated
I know I have one picture that is pixelated quite badly and I will change it. I have a lot of pictures saved to my computer from over the years and I know that I am not appropriately handling some of them which "may not be mine". The one hub that I made sure to give credit to the correct people, the hub was denied until I removed that information and left the pictures without credit. It's not my strongest point. Thanks.
If I had to guess I'd go with it might be you have priapism in there... ooor it is just the combination of saucy words? I don't know but I thought it was cute. I've had Hubs not featured for language, pixelated photos, or just subject matter... I don't know if Nantucket rhymes are on the big bad list....
Theophanes,
But, but Priapism is a medical condition and I wouldn’t have known that if I hadn’t learned it through my EMT training. Gee, I thought I’ve seen worse than that. What if I wanted to write a hub on Living with Priapism? I suppose I’d have to use the word several times wouldn’t I? And, I’m not getting defensive; this is exactly what I was looking for and I certainly appreciate your opinion of all people. I do also know that Nantucket has some really naughty lyrics associated with it, but I tried to keep it quite PG-13. Thanks :-)
Look at you rocking that 100; you wear it well!
I learned about priapism from the constantly erect and way over endowed God it was named after, Priapus. He's also suspected to be the inspiration for gnomes. I've used him for a lot of bad jokes... I COULD write a whole hub on him.... imagine that.
And yeah I don't know how that 100 happened... answering questions and writing hubs I guess. Either way I liked your poems, you keep writing! We need more reasons for the censors to implode.
Theophanes,
Wow, I did not know the history behind Priapus, I knew I should have read that Greek Gods and Mythology book with the rest of my 9th grade class, dangit! That would be a heck of a hub!
Aww, thanks for the support. I'm just trying to have fun and make someone smile, never intend to offend anyone. Fingers crossed. :-)

Do you delete useless negative comments?I have seen this happen a few times (on my own hubs too) where people write senseless negative comments such as "this is horrible" without any real feedback or reasons why they dislike the article. I understand that no hub will please everyone, but...

So hubbers help? I had four hubs that went from the pending state to having the featured status. Originally they were all viewed on the page where you can hop hubs. Now I dont no where they are? What does that mean? They all appear...

Hi? This is my third article for Hubpages, but it didn't make the cut. I honestly thought I'd rectified the mistakes made in the first two. I would really appreciate some insight on where I went wrong so that I can improve. Hubpages has not availed the specifics, they just say it did not pass the...

Help! I woke up this morning to find that one of my mid-range performing hubs, "What is Creation, by Definition?" (http://lauraschneider.hubpages.com/hub/What-is-creation) had plummeted to a score of 55. It was 74 on Sept. 8th, 2013, and I know it is a well-written article with 3...

I was just wanting a few other opinions about this type of unfeatured hub. Lately I have had like three go on the unfeatured list due to lack of traffic. They are some of my first posts here, and I am posting them back on social media sites, but I'm not so sure it's important to me at this point to...

I have three Hubs about the 2015 Sydney Siege. They were all featured. They do not attract a great deal of views as these are about a local event. However, only one of them has been demoted a few weeks ago.It now sports the " = Not Featured - Traffic" icon. But. ....
