I haven't written anything for months on HP, but have just started again. With the hubs being held before being featured, do you normally shared them on fb right away or wait until they're featured? Sounds like a dumb question, but I'm not sure if anyone can see them outside of HP, even if they have a link.
If you share it on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and so on, then whomever clicks on the link will be able to see it. I submit links to these social sites immediately so that the hub starts to gather views which in turn aid my total impressions.
I wait until it's featured, b/c I'm not entirely sure if ads show up or not until they are approved. And if you are trying to earn income on HP, you wouldn't want to drive traffic to a Hub before the ads are showing. But I could be wrong about that part.
They don't show until it is featured. I wait, so I don't waste traffic.
They do show online while pending. They just aren't indexed by search engines.
I think (could be wrong though) that Barbara was referring to the adverts not showing whilst the hub was 'pending' or not featured, so there was no opportunity for clicks if the Tweets etc generated readers during this period.
earlier i used to promote on on fb, pinterest immediately after the hub was published, but after a fellow hubber posted that she waits till it is featured and ads come up, i have started following her advice.
Hi there Healthy Pursuits - I have recently started using both Facebook and Twitter for advertising my articles, and I post them as soon as I complete, and nobody has complained that they cannot see them So I am pretty sure they can see them! I hope this helps!
Mr Awbery
I shared mine right away on Twitter, with the disclaimer that it may not show up right away.
Oh, I meant to add that I also do a teaser screen print to get people interested in clicking through.
Thanks for the help, everyone! I really appreciate it.
I share straight away because the link I post is active from when I publish (even if the hub is not yet featured). As hubs seem to be getting featured much faster lately I am not too worried about the adverts, although a little confused I admit, by the fact we could get views whilst ads are not showing yet, and not sure if HP's Ad program will still pay us on that basis (impressions) if there are no adverts in place yet for readers to see.
So glad to find this forum! I joined HP for almost 2 weeks from now, and I just knew how helpful are these social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) in creating impressions to hubpages. I guess I should share my new post as soon as they are already featured.
Thank you HP community.
I always wait until they are featured. It's better that way
As soon as a Hub is published there is a prompt for Tweet, Facebook and Pin. I normally do it immediately hoping that the Hub gets attention at these sites. Since the time between publishing and its being featured is not very long, I feel it is good to use the options at the earliest.

Did you wait until you had plenty of hubs and the ad accounts activated before you started promoting your hubs or did you start promoting right away?

I used to do it, stopped doing it and now I just did it. But is there any value to sharing it before it even gets featured or not?

I've noticed something kinda weird, after I write something, I put it on Facebook, because I've worked hard on it, and letting everyone I know that I have written a new hub. Do they or even even disliked it or leave encouraging words? Nope...nothing....zip, zero. I'm not sure if they know...

What 3 things do you think someone w/o a lot of time can do to increase their earnings on Hub pages? What tips do you have for someone to increase their earnings on HP even if they don't have a lot of time to dedicate to writing several new hubs every week or even month?

I have been in touch with the team concerning a hub of mine that was unfeatured due to the fact that I had only HP traffic and no Google traffic and felt this was not fair because my article had been online for years and had more than 1400 total views. This morning I received the following email...

Just wondering what sites Hubbers use to promote their articles? I have seen a lot of changes over the years with some sites no longer allowing links in forums or comments, and some article sharing sites just going away. I primarily use Facebook and Twitter these days to share my...
