whether the mail has been sent through Hubpages (as I mentioned in the subject) or it's some scam mail?
anybody got such mail. please share your views.
I've recently had several spam emails "via HubPages". Mostly Gambians wanting a friendship or several thousand dollars. I've been here nearly 18 months and this is a recent development - no idea why.
Yeah me too - over the last few months I have had love letters, penpal requests, and offers to maek a fortune just my replying to them - and therefore of course revealing my email address -that one I spammed - the others I laughed at and deleted!
I heard hackers and crackers were going to attack vulnerable blogs and other websites with these kind of posts to send nasty viruses. We will have to just be careful.
The only thing that can be sent via the HubPages contact link is plain text messages. So, the only way you put yourself at any risk is by clicking on a link in the email, or by responding to it (since that will reveal your email address to the original sender).
We don't filter the messages that are sent, so they should be approached with the same caution that you would any "anonymous" email.
Of course, if you'd prefer not to be contacted at all simply uncheck the "allow other users to contact you?" checkbox here, and then you'll have nothing to worry about at all.
Yes I've had a couple too from 'hubbers' with no hubs who seemed to be looking for romance!
I thought it was just down to my good looks!

Have you ever received hate mail?I've been getting a lot lately for a movie review I made a long time ago, and I want to know if there is anyone who has ever received hate mail, and how you respond to it?

If you receive an e-mail from a HubPages member, and the message says "e-mail address not verified," do you respond? I've only received a few messages through e-mail, all from truly wonderful HP people, but one showed the "not verified" message, and that gave me pause....

I've heard of some servers proving a little bit slow but this is ridiculous. Surely e-mails weren't even conceived of so far back as 1980?A few minutes ago, I received an e-mail from some company offering me breast implants at the, "Hugely discounted," price of £2,500 (!!!) and this...
