The negative impact of writers having removed most of their e-Bay Ads from HubPages must surely be having an impact on traffic to the whole site in general.   Of course, I could be wrong about this!
If this is the case though, then it means we also receive less traffic to our Hubs.
I would like to ask HubPages Staff to please explore the possibility now, of adding the Buy It Now Option to our e-Bay Ads.
    Thank you.

You can currently add items that are available via "buy it now" to the eBay capsule. I just tested to make sure.

If you would like to request the addition of a "Buy it Now" button or other feature to the capsule, then I would suggest doing so in the feature request forum so that we can get any additional feedback from other authors.

I would definitely like to do that Matthew - I was unaware that this could be done in the UK.
        Thank you Matthew.

I was only speaking related to the US.
Was your request related to the UK?
If so, make sure to specific that in the feature request forum as well.

Sallybea, the capsule works ONLY with Amazon.com and eBay.com, not with products from the UK or any other country.   Where you are yourself, doesn't matter.

I do understand that Marisa.  I still wish to put USA ads on my Hubs as this is where the bulk of my traffic comes from.  Nevertheless when I put one on, it shows up on my Hub as an Auction Item, even if it is not.  Matthew Meyer seems to agree with me providing us with a button for Buy it Now Items when we select the capsule would be a good way to go. I Resolving the issue with the way it displays on my Hubs would be wonderful.

Oh, me, forgive my ignorance, sally, but I do not believe I am up to speed on the e-Bay ads and why most have removed them from their hubs. Could you explain and get me up to date on that issue, if you do not mind? Your Buy It Now Option idea sounds great!

Faith Reaper, e-Bay changed the way that that paid affiliate ads in October of last year,  Instead of paying per click they now only pay if someone buys an item via an Auction.  In theory this seldom happens and as a result very few people, including myself have received nothing since it was implemented.  I am sorry I could fnot ind the thread which explained this better but hope this helps.  With the Buy it now option, I would certainly begin adding the capsules again.

There is a mention in the FAQ here, but, admittedly, it isn't very detailed.

Marisa has a good explanation here.

Sallybea, I’m in UK too and I don’t think we are able to access the “buy it now facility” on the US eBay site. There is the same issue if you try and display an e-book from the US Amazon site.  As far as I know it’s something to do with UK import taxes and not the fault of eBay or Amazon. If you access the internet from within UK, even though we can view and buy products from US to be posted to us, there is a bar on us buying electronic and other goods where postage/ import taxes may be an issue.

If you buy online from abroad (as I often do), sometimes Customs & Revenue slap a huge import duty on the item which must be paid before it can be delivered. At the moment the Channel Islands are exempt from this, which is why there has been a huge row about some companies using phantom warehouses there as a way to avoid UK import duties.

Hello Beth, Matthew showed me last night that it is possible for us to put USA Buy It NOw Ads our Hubs here instead of Auction items.  It was a bit of a long way around finding them but it did work.

It was not my  intention to put UK Buy It Now Ads on my site as most of my traffic is from the USA.  That would be a bit pointless.  The odd thing is that the Buy It Now items I sourced, still showed up on my Hub with Current Bid on them when it was really a Buy It Now Item.

I merely wanted to ad a Button for easily selecting the products Buy it Now now, instead of Auction Items from the Capsule for us in the UK.   Matthew seems to think it is possible and says he has requested one which wiould make it a lot easier to find the items.

Will just to have to wait and see the outcome of the request.

I was looking for a way for us to still put e-Bay items on our Hubs - with the opportunity to earn money - a lot easier it you can source Buy It Now Items and very people have earned anything from e-Bay for many months now.

Did you check to see whether that product had an expiry date?   You won't get a message if that buyer sells the product, you'll just have a capsule that shows no results. Unless you are willing to check all your Hubs every few days, Matt's suggestion is not a solution.

Also, where you are is completely irrelevant, so please forget about that. The capsules show eBay US products only, and they work the same regardless of where the author of the Hub lives.

When I searched for a Buy It Now Product, I chose a product where there were many available.
It is not straight forward when I want to choose e-Bay products  sold in the US - my computer defaults to the e-Bay UK ads.   This is not about where I live.  I just want an easier method to find them.

            Try this:
            Put this in your browser:
            https://encrypted.google.com/

That takes you to an encrypted Google search. Then, in that search box, paste this:
            http://www.ebay.com

Let me know it that doesn't work for you.

I recommend you keep a close eye on this and see how it works out.  Although a seller might have many available, if it's a big business they could sell ten, twelve or even fifty in a day.

Why use Google search to get to eBay?   I just type "ebay.com" into the address bar.

I used to sell on eBay and if an item is very popular I would make sure I don't sell out!

Good idea, by far the easiest - sometimes my computer defaults to the UK.

I think you're misunderstanding Sallybea's post.   She is asking for the facility to choose "Buy It Now" products to put in the eBay capsules on HubPages.
