So, I started a list of lensmasters from Squidoo I couldn't find over here. I wanna keep in touch, you know. Many migrants to these green pastures had to change their user names for one reason or another. So tell us, just who were you over on Squidoo? I was Arachnea. Big change there.
I was Susan Zutautas over at Squidoo. I was here under the account name of Just Ask Susan before joining Squidoo so now I have two accounts here at HP.
Hey Susan, just remember that as per HP policy, you can use the forums from just one account.
Oh I didn't realize that. I rarely go on the forums from my other account so I guess I'm safe
I'm sure the HP guys wouldn't do anything to you. It's usually for spammers. Just thought I'd let you know about the rule It's gonna be hard for me to differentiate your accounts now lol. I'm used to your "original" Hubpages account.
As far as I understand it, you can use both your accounts in the forum, but not on the same post. That's what was told me by an experienced Hubber on another page. That way people aren't having "discussions" with theirselves.
I had no idea about that. I think I may have trespassed that one, inadvertantly. so what do we do about it if we mistakenly posted under more than one account?
Don't bother about it. It was bound to happen with so many people being forced to open a second account. As I've already mentioned, it's a rule because of spammers and probably supporting your statements via other accounts (that you own). Pick one and stick to it on the forums.
It is a practical rule; back in the day when I participated heavily in forums I remember there were problems with "sock puppets".
This may help regarding the question of multiple account names and participation in the forum.
http://hubpages.com/faq/#multipleaccounts
Thanks. I believe I should probably stick with this profile, since I rarely if ever used the other one before. And I don't think I was on the squidoo forum much, either.
Thanks for that. I know I've accidentally made the multiple account mistake already on the forums and had no idea of this rule. Sigh. So much to try to learn so quickly, hope the HP admins will give us some time to adjust (I've been trying to use Firefox for this account, and Chrome for my original HP account, just because I'm lazy about switching back and forth, logging in and out for editing purposes. But I need to sticky-note myself to be careful about which one I use in the forums!)
You're right. So much to learn and get a handle on. The admins for HP are giving us a generous 4 months to get the lenses up to speed once they come over. I feel certain they'll understand our newbie-type mistakes as well. You're braver than I am. I would pull all my hair out trying to manage two accts on one site.
I'd be much happier if I didn't have to have two here! I wish there had been a way we could have had our Squidoo lenses imported into an already established HP account, but since that's not meant to be I guess a bunch of us are now stuck with multiple personalities
I was summertime18 there, Aquamarine18 here
I was DrBilltellsexciting stories... glad to be done with that one!
Those lenses (hopefully) will transfer to me here as DrBillSmithWriter.
I also write here as both Homeplace Series and as DrBill-WmL-Smith.
Actual author name is my full name William Leverne Smith for my complete "The Homeplace Saga" stories.
Great idea it get a list. I was on Squidoo several years... many I've seen transferring I never saw there... small world, filled with many people, it seems... ;-)
I was OhMe on Squidoo and now OhMe on HubPages .....OhhhhhhhMeeeee!
I was YourIslandRoutes on Squidoo. As my writing moved in all sorts of directions, not just genealogy history, I decided to use MelRootsNWrites here.
Brite-Ideas - same over here (have another hub account I rarely ever used with the name briteideas without the hyphen)
I was Tracy1973 on Squidoo. Glad you are putting this list together!!!!
I was Gayle McLaughlin on Squidoo and Gayle McLaughlin here. Would love some squidoo friends on hubpages.
Hi Arachnea (and all others),
I was holisticwriter on Squidoo and now I am using my real name, Terri Carr, per Hubpages recommendation.
I haven't figured out much of anything with HubPages yet. I have so many things I want to do and I guess I am waffling about whether or not any rev share site is worth it.
It does seem that HubPages gets more google traffic than Squidoo was getting though. So that makes me think I should stay active. However, I was not able to activate the ad program for my account. Can anyone direct me to the most straightforward help route?
I HATE, HATE, HATE figuring out tech issues. I know, I know, hating gets you no where. :-)
Thanks all for listening. I am glad there are so many friends on HubPages!!! That is one HUGE plus. I should think of that more often.
Terri
No change for me the same esmonaco, I'm looking forward to staying up on everyones work.
TreasuresByBrenda was already on HubPages so my new account is TreasuresBrenda. Secretly hoping that one day we will be able to amalgamate accounts, LOL.
Although I make my living as an artist, I have absolutely no creativity when it comes to user names. I was lisavollrath at Squidoo, and I'm lisavollrath here and just about everywhere else online.
Great name to work with.... ;-) Distinctive! ;-)
I was poetvix on Squidoo and on HP. With the move, I'm now Rhonda Lytle on HP too. I'm not happy at all about that by the way. While I'm not saying it's anyone's problem but mine, it bothers me to be forced to change a name I've used for over four years online just so my stuff can come over here when I already had over 70 articles here.
Writingnag at Squidoo but I already had a HubPages account from four years ago so I went with TheWritingnag. Good idea I want to follow my Squidoo community as we migrate.
I have been here for 3 years. I was also on Squidoo but forget the name I used. Linda Smith or linsm76 maybe both because I changed the name along the way if I remember correctly.
As soon as I saw beginning of your profile here, I remember you Cari!
I must admit, I am so sad over the loss of Squidoo. Been there so long but it helps seeing familiar faces here.
I'll be importing my Greekgeek articles to "mythphile," and Tinw can come straight across as her own hopelessly escapist self.
I was Ilona1 on Squidoo and here at Hubpages (which I had started to experiment with). My new account for my Squidoo lenses is now ilonagarden.
This thread was such a good idea!
I was BritFlorida at Squidoo and was able to keep the same name here. If you know me from Pinterest, Google+ or FB, I'm Jackie Jackson there
I'm ForEverProud on Squidoo and was able to keep the same name here.
Susan52 on Squidoo is now SusanDeppner on hubpages. I have an old Susan52 account here, too, which I've done little to nothing with over several years, but it's still earned a bit of money along the way.
"Amalgamating accounts," Brenda and others, is a great idea. I'm with you on that. Time will tell.
Thanks for starting the thread, Arachnea!
So glad to see a familiar face over here, Susan!
Very happy you're here too, Carol! Hope you can make some time to write, too. Your lenses were awesome!
I was also Desertdarlene at Squidoo. However, my Squidoo account will be transferring to Shorebirdie on HubPages. I have 1 hub on this account and may put my HubPages created content under Desertdarlene, but keep the Squidoo stuff under Shorebirdie.
I was dwelburn on Squidoo -same as here. But I only had 6 lenses and I already have similar articles on here, so I just deleted them all. Shame really. There is one I intend to put on here though in a couple of weeks when it has completely disappeared and won't come up as duplicate content.
I was balanceby design at Squidoo, now balancebydesign4u her at Hubpages. I forgot I had an old account here on hubpages as balancebydesign, so it wouldn't let me have that name. I don't think I ever wrote anything on Hubpages. I'm so sad about Squidoo but hoping I can make the transfer and start writing again.
I was asphyxia over at Squidoo but that name was already taken here. Now I'm wildsimplicity.
I am a squidoo transport. I am very happy with this move.
I was TheMeadMan over at Squidoo. Changed my nickname because my articles aren't just about mead, haven't been for a very long time, this name is more fitting
I was "scottmccray" on Squidoo, I have a dormant account here under that name as well - post move I'm "Scott A McCray."
I was and still am, ArtByLinda. I also have lhoxie here that I had opened before the news of the big move. What a good idea, nice to keep in touch with those we have known for so many years. Thank you.
Only a small change for me: CountrySunshine on Squidoo, and Country-Sunshine here
I had to use a different username, obviously. My lenses are moving over to here:
http://revolutionbjj.hubpages.com/
I am paperfacets at both sites. My name is Sherry Venegas and I am hoping to meet new online friends and see as many as the old still, somewhere. Like, twitter, FB, redgage etc.
I was Kalafina there. Guess no one else shares my music taste so I am Kalafina here too. So happy to see so many made the jump too.
I was bibliopola in squidoo and here I am also bibliopola. No changes.
_Joan_ on Squidoo is now joanhall on HubPages.
And JoanTheChoirLady is still JoanTheChoirLady.
I have a pre-existing account here on HP, but there is very little in it. I'll probably just remove that stuff and whatever I want to keep can be re-created on joanhall.
I was and still am mamabyrd it's good to see so many familiar faces
My name is MariannesWhims on HubPages. My Squidoo name was 1angelsbestkep
Sorry, I will try again. My name on HubPages is MariannesWhims. I transferred from Squidoo where it was 1angelsbestkeptsecrets. My cat was rubbing against my screen and stepped across the keyboard a minute ago. That's why the above post was abruptly ended.
Hello I am finally getting some time to post in the forums.
I was melaniekaren over on Squidoo, and I get to be melaniekaren her on Hubpages too.
I believe I am already following almost everyone in this list. I'll double check.
I'm thrilled to connect here, and I look forward to meeting a lot of great hubbers as well.
I was shewins at Squidoo, and I'm shewins here. I have a second account here at HP too, I am Sherry Hewins.
I'm glad so many of the Squids I came across over there are now over here.
I was JenwithFlash at Squidoo but since I already have an account here with that name, I'm JenwithMisty now. She's my new little mini horse

OK, so it's probably too soon to tell, but along with getting a higher percentage of my views from Google searches, it looks a bit like my Amazon sales have increased both in number and amount since we switched from subdomains to a single domain. Is anyone else seeing this? Even if it isn't the...

Hello,I'll give you a little background to the story here. I write on hubpages under the alias of Joe Macho. It was the first thing to pop in my head, and I find it more comfortable to write under this name than my real one. My problem now, is that I was contacted by another hubber and asked...

Hi All,Just wanted to give a heads up that I carefully prepared and edited 10 of my hubs, as per the instructions then applied for Adsense and I was soundly rejected the next day. I don't pretend to be the greatest writer but I am confident in my writing skills and reading appeal for the subjects I...

I'm very timid when it comes to change if the change is not one of my own choosing, even if it is good change. Moving to HubPages was an upsetting experience for me, mainly because I felt the place we moved from would find a way to mess it up or that HP would treat us like illegal aliens.Only...

Hello, I joined hubpages a day or two ago and there have been a few things running through my mind. Any constructive advice or comments will be greatly appreciated. Also, please excuse my inexperience and newbiness to the site.First of all, why is my hubscore zero? I haven't seen such a low score...

Curious if it is worth your time, I ran across info on it and didn't know if we could benefit from it.
