Some of my hubs were flagged for having too many promotional links. What are considered promotional links? Are links to other of my hubs considered promotional links? If so, how many are allowed on one hub?
Links to your other Hubs are not considered promotional, provided that the Hubs are relevant to the subject of the Hub. Just giving a list of other Hubs unrelated to the subject is not acceptable, not to HP and not to search engines.
The most important rule is that ALL links on your Hubs must be related to the topic of that Hub. So you can link to as many other Hubs or websites or blogs as you like, but they must be on the same subject.
If you were told your Hub was "overly promotional", that means you have more than two links to the same website, which is not allowed. You could have forty links to forty different websites if you wanted, you just can't have more than two links to the same one.
The other possible reason is that you had too many Amazon products. You are limited to one product per 50 words of text (so you can have 8 products in a 400 word Hub).

Someone recently stated that there are limits to how much you can link to your own hubs. Does anybody know the limitations?

We all know you can't have more than 2 links to the same domain in a single Hub. However, there used to be another rule - that if you linked to the same domain over several Hubs, that was also overly...

I noticed that when I checked my backlinks all of the ones from hubpages were 'nofollow' links. Should this be the case? (I've written several articles and I'd hate not to be getting the most out of them.) Or do I need...
