Received instruction of "now you need to create your first ad unit and place the ad code to fully activate your account.
Does anyone have a good HUB that explains how I do this? I am kind of lost. Thank you.
Congratulations. All you need to do now is add your Publisher ID to your HP account, and HP takes care of the rest.

That only applies if you are putting it on a web page. In your account settings on hubs it asks you for your adsense account number. It works fine.
Just go on Google adsense and create any ad unit. Play with it but there is nothing really needed to be done. When mine was approved, I think it was created automatically since we don't have access to Hubpages source code.
I can imagine how you must be feeling. I have been through the same. In less than four days you will have ads running
