I earned more in two days than I was able to earn from a month of writing.  Don't give up on e-Bay - it is nearly Christmas and people will soon start buying presents.

Both Ebay and Amazon have worked well for me, howbeit sporadic, I have had some good payouts from both over the time I have been here. smile

Sales should pick up a bit now - hopefully - think I have been pretty lucky so far:)

Yes, don't forget about Amazon, too.  I have made some good sales from them!

I do add Amazon ones too - especially if the products look more appealing and are relevant to my hubs.

I never a single cent at ebay. I place the capsules in my hubs but i did earn 8 cents at amazon, a prayer book was sold

sallybeaposted 9 years agoin reply to this

A prayer book!   Perhaps we all need one of those to get a sale:)

How do you make money doing that? You actually sell items? Am just curious is all.

You earn commission from placing e-Bay ads on your Hubs - they need to be relative to the subject of your hub - if you are writing about a kitchen appliance for instance - then you place an ad for that product on the hub.  The same applies for Amazon ads.

Sorry, I'm a total nude on the aspect. I am here for the writing. It's a passion of mine. If I am mostly writing short stories can that still apply to me also? Or is it only subjective to someone who is writing a review on something?

I think I have done that with my blogs posted things from Ebay on the hub but I do not know how to tell if I am making money or not

You need to check your accounts page - earnings, amazon sales and e-bay sales - if you have made any sales you will see details of them there.

This is the first time that I've encountered this strategy. I'm still new here...and learning my way around. But this seems like a neat way to earn more for your Hubs. Thanks! I'll look into this possibility.

I guess it is the luck of the draw - sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.

Thanks for the reminder!  I have a few Christmas Hubs and I just added some new eBay products that are relative to the Hubs!

Too bad can't do e-bay here without Adsense account.  Adsense turned me down for an account so I just have to rely on my own amazon account.  Waiting to see how it goes here....

Most people get turned down in the beginning - until they have enough hubs - try again when you have between fifteen and twenty.

Nancia  You have only been here for 2 months.  Wait another month, add more hubs and apply again

Good advice Linda - I was turned down a couple of times but I got lucky when I have ten hubs.

I have had zero luck with eBay or Zazzle.  It took 3 years, but now I am seeing at least one sale a month with Amazon.

That is something positive.  E-Bay seems to be pretty good at this time - shame to ignore all those potential customers! With a Buy It Now feature available to us now  - things seems to be improving.

eBay has been useless for years because of the way the capsules were set up, and the way eBay paid commission.  HubPages has now made the capsules Buy It Now only, which makes a big difference - I suggest you give a few capsules a try now.

      1. sallybea profile image81
sallybeaposted 9 years agoin reply to this

Definitely worth a try - especially after all the support you gave me when I was trying to get the Buy it Now Option for our pages.  Your influence must have helped swing it:)

I'm glad you're making some sales on Ebay. Maybe the bid now is really helping. I have hit or miss months with them. wink

Now would be the best time to see if it is working - with everyone buying presents online.

I had a quick look at one of your Hubs - the one about wrinkles. I would align your Amazon and e-Bay ads to the right of your text and place a blue background behind the add  Doing it this way -  may make the ads look more attractive to people visiting your pages.
