Hello fellow hubbers,
I have 2 questions:
1. I have decided to reveal my "real" name here on Hubpages, but I haven't found the setting yet which allows me to put my name, like some hubbers have done, on their profile page, next to their pen name. For example, fellow hubber billybuc has his real name Bill Holland in small font to the right of his HubPages name. How is this done?
2. Does anyone want to guess what my name is? First hint: in the movie, Intellstellar, my first name is one of the character's first name in the movie. If you haven't seen Interstellar (which I would highly recommend seeing), you can look at my Interstellar hub because I mention the first name. It's 6 characters.
Go to the Edit Profile page, and you will see a section that says "Real Name" below where you can choose your profile background.
I'll let others hazard a guess at your name, but I sure did love Interstellar!
I noticed that my real name is on my profile now. I didn't authorize that, but it showed up when the hub layout was changed a few weeks ago. Go figure. It doesn't bother me, but it would have when I was a newbie and wasn't sure if I wanted my real name out there
I apologize, but I cannot answer your first question. I am curious for the answer as well, so thanks for asking.
Secondly, I would love to take a stab at your name. Interstellar was an excellent movie! It has to by Murphy right? If I were given a second chance, I would say Cooper.. Both are excellent names, and can be used for either gender I would think.
I look forward to reading through some other hubs of yours. Have a good day!
Or Amelia Wolfe..........................
It cannot be Murphy since on the movie it's only Murph
Well it's mentioned that the name is Murphy. Coop and the family just call her Murph.
Steven, I think when she was little in the movie, they may have called her Murphy, but then most of the movie they called her Murph.
Hey, if anyone wants to really be a detective, you can try to find my last name. Hint: There's a link on my profile page which will reveal my full name.
Luis, you are correct...my first name is Amelia. Amelia is the first name of Anne Hathaway's character in Interstellar.
My other hint about a famous pilot was referring to "Amelia Earhart".
Good guess! Thanks. :-)
I don't know the name, but I waved when I flew over Florida.
What do I get if I am correct?????????????????
BTW way I got it by checking the facts about your website www.easylearningweb and its domain info.
You win, that's correct! Actually, it is right on my LinkedIn page if you click on the LinkedIn logo on the upper right of my profile page. You are very resourceful.
I wish this was a real contest where you win the jackpot! I will reward you with many likes and I've overdue to read some hubs, so for everyone that participated in this little game, I will have to check out lots of your hubs!
This was fun. ;-)
I miss some of the camaraderie that I used to see like this on HubPages in the past. I really hope all our traffic picks up so we can all have a prosperous year and beyond!
Actually this was the most fun I have had on HP for quite some time.....Let's do another! Any takers or ideas.............
Let's tackle Paradigmsearch. Sneak up on him.
(I probably just made him mad by posting this!).
Marcy, glad to see you and others having fun too. Isn't this what hubbin' is all about...having fun?!
I hope we can come up with some other ways to have fun and work together. Maybe collaboration is the key. Let's see if we can put our heads together and come up with something.
I'm a little burned out because yesterday I just finished my 30 Hubs in 30 Days Challenge. It was a good experience for me, but I have to admit the last 10 or so hubs were a little tricky to get done but what a great feeling to be done and cross the finish line.
Let's hope for some fun writing challenges this year! I'm looking into outside writing contests but always hoping that HubPages will sponsor one. We'll see. :-)
Nah, Luis is right. I'm fine with it.
Glad to hear that, Luis. I hope others had fun too. :-)
I would love it if the HubPages team would consider having a monetary contest or two again. Maybe something along the line of treasure hunt. Maybe we can have a special phrase or image hidden somewhere on one of our hubs. This way, it could be traffic on existing hubs. Just an idea.
I'm crossing my fingers that this is the year that contests come back. I really think it inspires us to be more creative with our hubs.
We could try to guess my real name.. any takers?
Hmmm, Hey Steve, could your real name be Mr. Stephen Morgan? LOL
Now see. I pretty much give it to you, and you misspell it.
Ooops, oh it must be "Steven Morgan" ??? I'll just call you Captain Morgan. ;-)
This is an easy one ; what three letters once you "know who I am" can spell two words by simply putting them in the order they first appear and then reversing their order plus by mixing their order the name of a major appliance company is the US ?
Name the words and the name of the company.
Winner will get a hub linked/shared on 2 Facebook pages, Twitter, Scoop-it, Tsu, Google Plus and LinkedIn plus a big smile emoticon..............sorry no money....I'm too broke for that!
If you're talking about our wonderful LuizEGonzalez, here's my guess:
Dam...that was too quick!!!
OK what hub do you want me to share????????
LOL! I must have been wider awake this morning than I realized.
That was fun, Luis! Pick whatever hub you want, and thank you for that great 'prize' - I can always use shares!
Wow, Marcy, you are good! I gave it some thought earlier and then had to run. I didn't have a clue.
I am on a newspaper everyday
WE are said to be kind, gentle and lovers of beauty, harmony and peace.
1.What's the newspaper name
2.Where do you find information about how/who WE are and thus what are WE? Hint; it "started" by looking up a long time ago.
Same rewards as before..................this is too much FUN!!!!!
Luis, Marcy, Steve and Para (did I miss anyone)...let me know if there are any particular hubs of yours that you would me to share. We can't pin hubs, can we? I started using Pinterest and I'm learning about pinnin'.
Luis - I remember you know...you are the photography expert. Did I ask you already way in the past...what is a good camera to photograph food? There is a setting on my Sony Cybershot for food, but I know a little camera like that isn't gonna do it. I hear that the cell phone cameras are getting better than real cameras (at least better than a Sony Cybershot).
Glad to see that more games are underway!
What a generous offer, easylearningweb! I would be thankful for any that you can pin or share! Please feel free to pick whatever appeals to you!
Will do, Marcy. :-)
If you are on Pinterest let me know what name you are under and I will look for you.
I have an account there that I haven't used in forever - I think it's my own name - the one I use here (I should know, right?). I also tried to logon not long ago and couldn't remember my password. Feeling very blonde just now. If it's any excuse - I had some serious family health issues this past year & huge home repairs that kept me too busy for the good stuff in life, such as HubPages & Pinterest! I'm ready for a more relaxing and fun 2015.
Hope you find me on Pinterest - if you do, leave me a trail of breadcrumbs & I will look for myself there!
You can get a used Canon from Amazon for about $228.. The good thing about these digital cameras is that you can use any old Canon film lens and by having a variety of lenses (for food an 80mm or greater zoom/macro capable one works best) your creative latitude is that much greater.
The best so far is one that is about the same as Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro. This lens size allows you to be as close as 1 foot from the dish.
I have two to choose from. take your pick.
I just noticed 2 freaky things.
1. Yesterday I entered my full name in the "Real Name" field in the Edit Profile page, and then saw my name which I put in parenthesis, next to my HubPages name. Today it was gone! I just went back in Edit Profile and entered my full name again, and I see it on my profile page again...we'll see what happens.
2. I have 93 hubs, but the number of hubs on my profile page say "92". Weird. If I go into the My Account page, it says "93" for the total number of my hubs. By coincidence, my HubPages Profile score is 93 today, no to be confused with the number of my hubs, which is supposed to be 93. :-O
What State Was I Born In?
Here are the clues:
Where can you hop a plane to Europe?
What might be warm in the winter?
What might sound 'right' for someone who was just born?
First person to guess right gets a hub shared here & one on Facebook.
How can New York be warm in the winter? It has to be New Jersey.
New Jersey isn't too warm in the winter? So it can't be NJ.
But, Jerseys are warm. And babies might like a new jersey.
Anyway, Never ask a person where he's from.
If he's from Texas, he will tell you.
If he's not, there's no use in embarrassing him.
Writer Fox, that's true, so maybe it is New Jersey. Marcy?
Writer Fox is right - I was born there, but now I am FROM Texas (and proud of it!). Didn't grow up in New Jersey, though.
Okay - since Luis is the one who originally posted the right answer (even if New York was in the mix), and Writer Fox got the logic of it (Jerseys are warm, and the "New" relates to being a new baby), I owe both of you two shares.
Let me know if you have preferences - otherwise I will just pick something from the many great hubs I admire in your constellations!
It is a Li...ttle Paper in digital format.
Second clue...WE are surrounded by animals, insects, mythical beings and creatures from the sea and some say WE are ruled by it.
Luis, For your riddle, does it have something to do with astrology? Or am I totally off base?
Luis's riddle is to guess his digital newspaper and who "We" are (WE are surrounded by animals, insects, mythical beings and creatures from the sea and some say WE are ruled by it.)
Marcy's riddle is to guess that state she was born in (guesses: New York, New Jersey, Florida, Texas)?
Hint: "in its broadest sense, is the search for human meaning"
For the newspaper : "just as in my name, things can sometimes not be in order"
Luis, The plot thickens. Based on your last clue, now I'm thinking it's more spiritual, is it related to heaven? I think we need more clues.
BTW, I started sharing hubs on my Pinterest page, starting with you, Luis. I created a Photography board, check it out, go to my Pinterest page and then click on the Photography board:
Shared some of you recipes on my foodlicious. (An open board so expect lots of pins)
Hint for who WE are: not as spiritual as you may think but more in the realm of a fortune teller.
Hint for the newspaper: look at the letters and remember how you came up with the words in my name. Remember it is a LI. ttle PAPER.
I used to do this for my high school students so I can get a bit mischievous....lol (BTW, this is not a clue)
I knew it was either New York or New Jersey.......I love this!

OK fine, Marcy is from Texas...Not really but she lives there now
Wow - Luis, you really shared like crazy! Thank you so much! I owe you - I am not on as many sites as you are, but I will make it up to you with multiple shares over a few days (so I don't spam followers).
I was born in New Jersey (Jersey is warm, "new" for being a newborn). So New Jersey is the right answer. As Writer Fox mentioned, I didn't bother making a riddle on where I am 'from,' - I live in Texas, so I am from there as of many moons ago. And I tell people I'm from there, all the time. Wouldn't have been a difficult riddle to solve!
FYI - I just shared your hub on creepy doll photography (gotta be one of the most unusual photography hubs I've seen!).
Hey Steve Morgan,
I created a Sports Channel on my Pinterest page and pinned your hubs, go to my Pinterest page to the Sports Channel board to see:
http://www.pinterest.com/easylearningwe … s-channel/
Everyone else, I'll be sharing your hubs too...I'll do more tomorrow. ;-)
Everyone contributing to this thread...I appreciate you commenting on this thread (which now has several topics and games in progress).
FYI - my "real name" issue where it doesn't stick on my profile page continues...I added my real name again this morning and I will check tomorrow to see if it remained. My number of hubs issue is resolved somehow, and now shows as 93 instead of 92.
I will follow you all on Pinterest if I can find you.
Marcy - I couldn't find you under your name, although when I searched, I did find a couple of your hubpages that others pinned.
Luis - I looked under http://www.pinterest.com/luisgonzalez/ but that is another person with the same name as you. Then I went to your HubPages profile page and linked to your pinterest from there and then found you on http://www.pinterest.com/luisegonzalez/
You have not given up on my last puzzle haven't you ?
Luis and Detectives on-hand,
No, I don't give up easy, but your puzzle is puzzling? LOL
Your last clue said not as spiritual as you may think but more in the realm of a fortune teller, so that's why I keep thinking about astrology. Am I close in regards to the topic?
For the newspaper, I'm not sure about the LI. ttle PAPER clue? How about one more clue for us today? And maybe recap if any answers from anyone were getting close.
For the first one it is astrology so then what is my sign?
Hint: I am shown holding two which allows me to weigh my options.
For the second: besides being a Paper and being Li. ttle it comes from small rivers.
Hint: what do all proper names have in common and it comes from a single source which can also be a proper one.
Not a hint: My students found the answers in about two hours last year but they did put all their heads together. My goal was to teach them to use deductive, analytic and cognitive thinking skills.
Luis, Your sign might be Pisces because it is an intuitive sign and Pisces people are natural mediums who can communicate their inner vision through either the arts or the sciences?
For the second, not sure about the newspaper. My only immediate thought about the clue about rivers, makes me think of pebbles. How about newspebbles.com which is an online newspaper?
Otherwise, I will have to think about that one and get back to you later today.
You're a Libra - the sign of the scales.
Yes I am a Libra. Very good. Now for the newspaper. Hint: I have already told you the name. Concentrate on this; "For the second: besides being a Paper and being Li. ttle it comes from small rivers." It tells you the name of the paper plus who publishes it.
Hint: what do all proper names have in common and it comes from a single source which can also be a proper one."
Hint: It is seen in many social circles
Luis, I think you have stumped us all in regards to your newspaper puzzle. The only thing I can think of is "fish" from a river. Otherwise, I think we need another clue. I don't want to admit that we are all clueless? LOL.
1.The newspaper features three elements from my name
2.the small rivers is not a river at all & changing two letters into upper case should reveal a proper noun
3.Keep in mind the upper case letters (why they are so) in previous hints.
This is the answer; "besides being a Paper and being Li... it comes from small rivers. It tells you the name of the paper plus who publishes it."
Thanks for more clues, Luis...let's all give us some more thought.
Luis, I found it! I asked my phone where small rivers was, thinking it was a place, but I see it is a company, and the website is:
I had never heard of this. So this company is good for publishing? How do you publish your books? I have several projects in progress so I'm interested in learning how others have been successful in getting their works published.
Thanks, I took a screenshot:
Christy - I pinned several of your images from your Feng Shui hubpage on my Photography board on Pinterest: www.pinterest.com/easylearningweb/photography/
paradigmsearch - I shared your How-do-I-remember-the-visible-spectrum-An-introduction-to-Mr-Roy-G-Biv hub on my Pinterest Science Channel board (I just created this board but it will have more on it soon: http://www.pinterest.com/easylearningwe … e-channel/ ), and pinned some images from the hub on my Photograph board too.
word55 - I shared 2 of your hubs on my Health and Fitness board on Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/easylearningwe … d-fitness/ and some of your images from other hubs on my Photography board.
Victoria Lynn - I shared your http://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Save-Mon … pping-Tips on my new All About Money board on Pinterest; and your sports hub on my Sports Channel board: http://www.pinterest.com/easylearningwe … s-channel/
I couldn't pin any images because the "Pin It" little logo didn't appear when I hovered over your images (that happens when I go to my hubs too, not sure if there is something we have to do to make our images pinable?).
WriterFox - I shared your Google Panda Update hub on my Social Media Frenzy board: http://www.pinterest.com/easylearningwe … ia-frenzy/ and your pumpkin carving hub on my new Holiday board: http://www.pinterest.com/easylearningwe … -holidays/ (and pumpkin image on my Photography board) - hey, I remember this hub from before, great images and cool Halloween hub!
Did I miss anyone. I saw lots of other ones that I liked...will share more images and things as time permits.
This is just about the best thread I've ever started and participated in on HubPages...great camaraderie, wish more hubbers would join us, especially to help solve Luis' puzzle. ;-)
Blimey, this thread took a turn I didn't expect.
I have checked my real name - it was (thankfully) a blank spot.
I am a quiet, reserved (hermit) by nature and don't wish my name to be here/there/everywhere as "writing for income" for me is a different face to "writing for clients". While I could decide that solving smelly feet would make me a lot of money on this site (or others), I'd not wish a client to stumble across that when considering me to write their content on baking fancy cakes
I think the reason we all love hubpages (and stay) is because it's like a family that we belong to. Plus, most serious hubbers truly love to write. I totally can relate to name thing.
Thanks for your comment. BTW, you have some interesting hubs...I shared your Mars hub on my Science board on pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/easylearningwe … e-channel/ and your Haunted Ghost Tours hub on my Holiday board too: http://www.pinterest.com/easylearningwe … -holidays/

Now someone else put a puzzle.....let's keep this going!!!
Ok, here is another "reveal the real name" puzzle:
What is the name of the person who used to be part of popular singing group, now acts in a detective show, has a famous rapper turned actor brother, and just married a woman with blonde hair?
OK, I'm taking a shot at Donnie Wahlberg from NKOTB who married Jenny McCarthy and his brother is Mark who now acts.
That's correct, rebekahELLE! Great job. Maybe that was too easy?
Now, can you or anyone reveal the rapper name that Donnie's brother used before becoming a famous actor? Also name the very popular song that his brother sang which was #1 Billboard hit in 1991.
(music is one of my niches)
Marky Mark - Good Vibrations
Correct! For getting the right answers, I will share sevreal of your hubs and pin some of your images.
Next "reveal the real name" puzzle has to be tricky like Luis'.
If anyone wants to post a puzzle please do so, otherwise I will try and come up with a puzzling one soon. ;-)
Thanks! What a great idea for a thread.
I'll start with a relatively easy one if you find the correct hub to find the answer.
Who played the keyboard/synthesizer on the first MTV video, Video Killed the Radio Star?
He 'made' the organ breathe to have the effect of human life in more recent music.
Yes, it is Hans Zimmer. Do you know the movie soundtrack he was referring to with the sound of the organ 'breathing'?
BTW, thanks for the comments on a couple of my hubs. I'll do the same and share a couple of yours, plus another one if you can name the movie soundtrack.
Sorry, rebe, don't know the name of the movie soundtrack...I'll investigate as time permits.
I'll give you two clues.
I know you've seen the movie.
The organ used for part of the soundtrack is located in the Temple church in London.
(The answer is in one of the videos on the Hans Zimmer hub.)
I'm thinking, it's Interstellar!?
Yes, that's it! It was Christopher Nolan's idea to use an organ in the soundtrack, but it was Zimmer who chose the specific organ, being a 1926 four-manual Harrison & Harrison organ in London's Temple Church, which was built in the 12th century by the Knights Templar. The organ parts for the soundtrack were recorded on five separate days in London. The music was composed in his (Zimmer) Santa Monica studio.
I'll share an extra hub for getting it right.
An easy anagram
Prize= I will share one of your hubs all over the place.
Can you find the scrambled word?
A really hard one. Guess the name of this movie!
Get the right answer and I will share three of your hubs all over the place!!!
1. BMX riding might not be the movie’s main focus, but this flick shows that girls can totally be kick ass BMX-ers too!
2. Though we know this actor as a goofy vampire, this was actually his first movie.
3. The characters in this movie definitely showed that it’s not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game.
4. Her acting was great in the movie, but the lead actress doesn't exactly fit the body type of the type of character she portrays.
5. Rapper Missy Elliot remixed a special version of this song JUST for the movie!
6. This movie is packed with cameos from pro athletes.
7. Though he didn't earn any awards for this movie, one of this film’s stars has six, yes six Oscar nominations and one win. Impressive.
8. This movie has a lot of similarities to a (cancelled) ABC Family show – the show even uses some of the same plot lines.
9. This movie’s main antagonist didn't get to showcase his or her singing ability in their role, but definitely does now as a cast member on Glee!
10. Bra straps have never played a more important role in a movie before.
11. The name's a sticker
12. Reminds you of an Olympic sports
13. Athletes find out that they have more power than the judges

OK here is another one:
This British actor was part of a famed comedy ensemble, before his see-through character floated through walls at a magic school somewhere in England. He can also be heard as king of a far away kingdom. Who is he?
Harry Potter fan...
John Cheese = Nearly Headless Nick!
I'll think of one tomorrow.
Either you're a mind reader or you've hacked into my computer!
Wow, rebe, you are on a roll! Hey, Luis, before I looked at rebe's answer, I instantly thought of John Cleese.
How can we get more hubbers to join this thread?
I think we should continue puzzles keeping the "Reveal the Real Name" as the theme.
I catch you guys tomorrow...zzzzzzz.
http://rebekahelle.hubpages.com/hub/Aro … Well-Being
Posted in the same places as before...I feel I'm working for you.......lol
This renowned actor has been around for quite some time. His roles included a James Bond bad guy with a shiny weapon, a wizard who abandoned reason for madness and fought a War in the Stars. Who is he?
Haven't found anyone I recognize yet in both a James Bond film and Star Wars, but during my research I found someone named Khan Bonfils?
Anyone care to guess?
I have another reveal the real name puzzle which I will post shortly.
It's not Khan Bonfils
This actor was old when he went to the Stars to be in a War plus he was a "meanie" with a royal tittle.
Hey Luis, just want to make sure our replies don't get lost in the thread...for your actor puzzle, was it Alec Guinness?
Nope. Here is another clue; he wore a cape in two of his films and liked to carry long sticks with one being "brighter" than the other. In another of his movies he lived in a tower plus didn't seem to like trees that much. Perhaps he wasn't as Wise as he was known. He also shares a real name with an actor known for playing a super hero.
Luis, I dub thee the puzzle master. The plot thickens. Things that come to mind...Batman, but more so, Darth Vader. James Earl Jones?
Let me think about this one. More clues are always welcome. ;-)
Think futuristic and before time as in magical
Samuel Jackson, and Billy Dee Williams wore capes in Star Wars but they don't match up with futuristic and magical. I don't think it could be Harrison Ford as Hans Solo. How about Chewbacca? No, because no cape? Another clue please.
Beard in one movie and not in the other. Remember he shares a real first name with an actor who played a super hero who can fly. One role was futuristic and the other one was a magical but dangerous time "with one to rule them all"

What is the stage name of this entertainer?
Her "real first name" is olive but she uses a different stage name.
She is part of a duo group.
Dolls are popular.
Real name is Olive Marie Osmond
That's correct, Luis. It's Olive Marie Osmond.
I owe you a share!
An update: Since we began sharing our hubs I have experienced a 48% rise in the number of views, particularly from Pinterest. So this thread has had it useful purposes. Let's keep it going!
Interested if others have had similar results?
Luis, I agree, this is a happening thread, just wish we can get more hubbers involved. Maybe it is too varied and others are getting lost in the thread?
BTW, how did you calculate your view stats? Did you use the info in My Account or info from elsewhere?
Luis and FYI to all, I just received my HubWeekly email which has a summary of stats and it lists my Hub Views went down 14% in last 7 days, but I think I know why. 12/5/14 to 1/5/15 was my fast paced 30 Hubs in 30 Days Challenge, when there was a lot of activity during that time.
Comparisons of week to week/day to day etc. example' last week to this week, last Wednesday to this Wednesday and so on. My biggest traffic rise has been from Pinterest.
