My hub "How to Make Money Writing Online" is posted at Hub Pages as the original work of some anonymous person called W8848. Here's the link:
http://hubpages.com/hub/Do-You-Want-to- … t-to-Write
When I try to flag the hub, it just pops me to the bottom on the page and nothing happens.
It seems like every week another one of my hubs is plagiarized and I am having only about 50% success at getting the thieves to even acknowledge they took the stuff. I was having fun here, but lately, not so much. It's lots of things--but if people right HERE are going to do it, seriously, what is the point of putting any effort into this stuff?
Hi Pam - I managed to flag on of their other copy/paste hubs and also mentioned your problem. Hopefully, they will disappear very soon
hey Pam there are a few arseholes around but if we all stick together and work for the good we will get rid of them.
I managed a flag as well. Now lets see that lovely smile!
That's better.
Pam just noticed that your Hub was stolen 9 months ago ( and nobody noticed till now) and looks like all the others were. and he has no recent hubtivity.
This guy should be dumped!
I could flag it, Pam. I hope it goes down in a NY minute, even if it'll feel like an eternal NY minute.
Thanks Elena & Sufi.
I've really had a case of the gremlins here the past month or so.
Must be Constant Walker's famed techno-farts.
Either that, or the New World Order sees you as a threat to international security and is censoring you - Your orange jumpsuit is almost ready.
I think I reported that spammer last nite when he flooded the forums. I jumped right on it.
Why is there always someone who has to mess up a good thing? Spammers, viruses, in China they get the death sentence if caught.
That's so creepy, agvulpes! How come we never noticed!?! How many other hubs have been snatched? Can you please list them so that we can all go and start a flagging spree?
Hi guys,
Thanks for flagging that and for being supportive.
I like HP but lately I've been feeling like I'm misusing my energy. What I love most here are the great online friends I've made (aka you guys). What I like least here are the following: 1)the stolen hub nonsense, which gets worse the longer you're here and the better you get--and it's more than just annoying, because if some guy in Kat Mandu steals your content and is web savvy, there goes your Google ranking and your ad revenue, and 2) the hate mail, stalkers, and trolls that you eventually attract if you say anything of substance. I don't mind civilized debate, but I've received the following commentary, "F%$k you you commie bitch," and that was on a non-politcal hub. That just takes the fun out of it for me. I wish there was a 'block' function here sometimes.
So I'm reevaluating my priorities. Probably I'll just lay low for awhile and write an occasional fluff piece that won't bother me if it's ripped off.
That's quite sad as you have quite a presence here. Maybe you need to write a HATE hub like Cris A? Seriously, you get hate email and stalkers here?
I must say, I am enjoying Hubpages so much but unfortunately, I am not getting the reading done I need to get done over my holiday break and I really need to finish the children's book I'm halfway through. Maybe I also need to lie low a bit, huh?
Hi Cindy--I know what you mean, that's what I'm talking about. I get kind of addicted to the instant feedback here and then I neglect bigger projects. I'm supposed to be writing a book too, and I joined Writer's Market thinking I'd work on print publication and haven't done squat with that.
Cindy,
I couldn't agree with you more on your comment, I am getting ready to blast his name all over the internet was here in the last 24 hours 3 times.Several of the fans that I have stuck on my tail I know is that person, as they have only joined my fan club. I recieve weird e-mails and what is amazing is that most of these stalkers do not know that we can grab their ip addresseses look them up and notify all necessary law enforcement agencies. My stalker is being tracked through these law enforcement agencies and it is only a matter of time. monitoring him.
lol and I have a PJ Tracy novel I was going to start today, lying unopened by my side...
These things should be emailed to team@hubpages; posting them in the forum takes longer to be noticed.
http://hubpages.com/hub/bestwaytoloseweight This is stevemark12202000's original hub....and http://hubpages.com/hub/best-Way--Lose-Weight is the same guy copying it.
I've flagged the one he stole from Pgrundy and the one from stevemark.
Gone - quick response from the team
Edit: Hi Elena - we crossed in Cyberspace. How's the weather in Spain?
Sufi, the weather is just fabulous, Spring is really coming out! YAY! For you?
Great stuff - glad you are enjoying it. Pretty sunny here, but we did have some rain and thunder this morning
Hey AE, that sounds like an idea for a movie script. Beautiful young woman, all she wants to do is write and someone starts to stalk her on the net. She contacts law enforcement but they don't take it seriously. She starts to feel as if she is being followed. Things in her home are not where she put them, the tension is mounting. She gets hate/weird emails. She contacts some friends on Hubber, people she's formed an online bond with, and together they work to trace the stalker and catch him. Pretty exciting stuff, eh?
Seriously it isn't exciting and it is more horrific then you can imagine, I wouldn't wish it upon my best friend, you or anybody for that matter.
AEvans I know the police in Australia takes this very seriously.(I think it is a Federal Offence) How do the American police treat this matter! and cannot you block this guy somehow?
There has to be a way that IP addresses can be blocked, preventing stalkers from having multiple identities
But IP addresses don't always come from a specific computer or user. And sometimes they come from the router. So that would be a tricky thing to do unless you knew the physicality and specific users of the computer.
But, there has to be some way we can block stalkers who just create another identity here and continue to stalk people
I am on a fairly standard broadband arrangement in Australia - to change my IP I disconnect my modem for 10min and then power it on - new IP assigned. I think some places in the US you have a fixed IP but its by no means universal. At the end of the day I don't define love lorn letters from "my esteemed friend" in Nigeria or offensive comments which I delete - or edit for my own purposes on my own blog as stalking - more like entertainment really...

Lately as I hubhop, I am finding lots of photo only hubs. Are these considered low quality? It would seem that hubs need to have text of some kind besides a title. I started out flagging them as low quality, but I don't want to put moderators to extra work if these are considered acceptable. What do...

If we flag a hub, does it say which hubber put in the flag, or is it anonymous. I mean, could someone turn around and flag your hub to retaliate? How does it work exactly? Thanks.

I have encountered a very poorly written hub, the spelling and grammar was bad and the sentences were incomprehensible. The hub has less than 300 words in total including the title (268 words exactly) and has more than 15 none-English words. I had to check the hubber profile; the hubber has 12...

I've been writing for years and I've never managed to get a hub itself to have a 100 score (the profile is a different story)... but today it finally happened!Oddly enough with a hub I wrote on the 23rd of last month on the topic of traffic (who knew that'd be a hot topic these days )...So I guess...

What do you do when you read a hub that is purely promotional? The hub itself may be well-written and enjoyable, but clearly it is all about promoting a company, product, or service. Do you flag it? Do you ignor it? Do you rate it?

Obsessing with mid 70's for hubscores and they are high traffic-what gives? Anyone help me out here?I have been working on each of my 50 hubs for days..I'm tired and worn out. I don't need to have a score of 90 for my hubs, but a decent 80 would be at least decent for the work ..these hubs...
