Previously, I got repeated notifications of Don Bobbit forum posts. I use to get 12 messages for a single forum post in my Hubpages daily mail notification.
And, now, today I got 10 messages for the same post posted in a forum discussion by Paul Edmondson regarding "Two significant search trends" just one hour ago.
Why are these happening like that?
Is it any error committed by the computers?
I hope somebody checks the emails before sending them.
I thought of bringing this to the notice of the staff as it happens often nowadays.
I too have noticed this happening but not always. Not sure what has caused it.
Yesterday I also received several notifications about posts by Paul Edmondson. When I looked at them, they are individual posts, but with the same text. That would explain why we got repeated notifications. But the question is, what caused his content to get posted several times. Some had an image and some didn't.
Paul, if you read this, what happened? Did you have trouble posting? Or did your computer hiccup and repeat the send. Why did some have an image so the last few didn't?
Yes, Glenn. Paul Edmondson yesterday and prior to that by Don Bobbitt some 3 days back and another some 15 days back. These things are happening since one month or so. Our technical people should fix the problem.
We are aware of this issue and the engineering team is looking into it, thanks!
I do have any problems with getting duplicates at all. Never have.
Do you receive the daily emails from HP? If you have subscribed for daily notifications, you must be receiving the emails daily at 10 am in USA and at 10 pm in India. And you will find those glitches happening.
This issue should now be fixed. Thanks for your patience, everyone!
Christy, What I don't understand is that each of the duplicate threads were a little different. I think there is another issue that has not yet been addressed. See these three examples:
This has an image and just one reply:
http://hubpages.com/business/forum/1399 … arch-trend
This has an image but no other replies (at this time):
http://hubpages.com/business/forum/1399 … arch-trend
This has NO image and a lot of activity from many of us:
http://hubpages.com/business/forum/1399 … arch-trend
Every new forum post triggers a new notification. If you do not want to receive notifications just hit the unfollow button on the forum thread.
Yes, but the point is, these are not posts which he's followed.
I see the same thing. It's not consistent, but every now and then, someone I'm following will post a new forum thread, and I'll get ten or twenty notifications about it on my feed, instead of just one.
Yes, Marisa. That is what I am conveying. You understood my point very clearly.
We get 10 to 20 notifications of the same post. The mail says there are 20 new posts in the forum discussions that I follow. But, it is only one new post that is sending 20 notifications due to some glitch in the communication system.
The technical staff should look into this defect in mailing system and correct it.
My experience was different. Each notification posted to a different URL for Paul's post. So it looked like he posted several times. When I looked at them, there were minor differences as well. Some had images and some didn't. So it clearly was not the same post. I wish I saved the emails since I no longer have the reference to to individual posts. However, I noticed that you posted a reply in one and I posted a reply in another. So that also proves thee are multiple copies of his post.
I agree with you Glenn. They are from different URLs. This email was received on 05/02/2017 at 10'0 clock approx. I am pasting a copy of the entire notification about new posts in Forums on that day.

The post numbers are as follows:
Hubpages.com/Business/forum/139982 to 139990 (total 9 posts)
Hubpages.com/Community/forum/139991 (one post only)
So, there were total 10 posts for the same thing.
This is a bit less astonishing than the posts from Don Bobbitt.
His one post in the forum was repeated 20 times on 20/01/2017 which also I highlighted in one of my questions. The link is here.

Another post from Don Bobbitt was posted 12 times on 04/02/2017 early hours. link to one post where I commented is here.

This is DON again.
Yesterday afternoon, the spiraling clock emblem disappeared from my feed when I clicked on a new Hub. I went back on to HP several times over hte evening and things now seem stable from my perspective.
DON
Proof that they are all different threads is that I see that you replied in one of them and many of us are having a discussion in another. Check out each one.
Quite a few people appear to have started the same thread in the forums a dozen times or more recently, but clearly they only posted once and the threads multiplied of their own accord.
I suspect similar technical issues. The important thing is not to get paranoid, lol. Mr Bobbit is not out to get you.
Haha. I agree, but it is a bug so let's hope HP will address it.
This is Don. This is one of the NEW errors I am seeing on HP. At times, when I send a post, the screen just freezes. And when it comes back, I see the multiple postings of the same Hub myself.
Secondly, If I tap on the notice of new Hubs available in my feed, I get the new Hubs, but I also get a perpetual "working symbol". The only way I can get rid of the symbol is to go out of my feed and then back.
Anyone else seeing this?
DON
I received an email notification yesterday and there was a link attached which turned out not to be there when I clicked on the link. I tried several times to find the link but then decided to look at the profile of the person only to discover that he had been banned only hours after joining the site!

I have been cramming in all the SEO information I can find lately. I have found some great nuggets hidden amongst the wave of dudes just wanting to sell their E-books. However, I am wondering if some of the information I am finding is outdated now since semantic variation is being utilized so much...

When I checked my email this morning, I had 5 emails from HubPages telling me someone had replied to my forum posts - including myself in 2 (at least some]/i] of the emails contained multiple post notifications).I can handle not being notified of this new feature, but I'd seriously like to know why...

When I read tutorials my head spins. So please give me an example using my topic: a recipe for baked salmon. If the title is "How to make Herb-crusted baked salmon", and I use the phrases "salmon fillet" "fish" throughout the hub, that's not optimizing right? Examples...

There is a lot of bad SEO (search engine optimization) advice out there, and the use of automated services that procure backlinks to your Hubs is one particularly egregious example. Using services to get backlinks can result in your Google AdSense and/or HubPages account permanently banned. Yes, we...
