Well, it's 4:00 pm EST and here in NC the winds have picked up, the temps have picked up and it is a balmy day. Just right for a sail or two.

Not for me, however. I'll be heading out for the gym for a quick work out and back home for dinner and work.

Last shift, and a partial one at that, Woo hoo! Then, flying into Detroit tomorrow morning for fun with my 4 goblins this w/e.

Wish me safe travels cuz the storm from the NW hit Chicago pretty bad yesterday.

@ Denise, Well I made it through the one more day with no smoking. I got home from work and my whole family was there to surprise me with a dinner and a few gifts. I was really surprised. It of course was for hitting my year sobriety date. It was really nice of them.

I love all of them and Love all my Hubber Girls as well!!") You all are the Best!!!

  Just dropping by to say hello and goodnight. I've been a bit burnt out this past couple of weeks. A lot of work and trying to keep up with the house chores. It's not easy! And I have no kids. I can't imagine what it would be like if I had a child!!!

  no, i didn't mean it that way. i think your a lot of fun to talk to klara. in fact, your one of my favorite hubbers on here. i was just mentioning diane and beth's names because i talk to them the most, and it seems like we hardly see each other. however, im sorry if i hurt your feelings, as talking to a pretty girl like yourself is always fun to talk to.

@ Steven -- I know that. I've had a long, long, long day and it isn't over yet.... Could just use a lot of love and some hugs at the moment.

@ Mark -- The first year is the hardest and you've made it!! This is a great celebration for you!!! And, you're one week off the nicotine -- even tougher. You're a fighter and quite the trooper! I'll hop on board tonight...could really use a relxing sail...maybe catch some shut eye before I have to get ready for another day of work in about....let's see..... 5 hours. Yikes! Only 5?!? I better get off of here and get prepping for another meeting.... dang, there are lot of meetings!!!

  It is hard to catch up with everyone when I am on the midnight shift. So, usually I am here on the w/e's during 'regular' hours. However, this w/e I am visiting and so there was no alone time before this.
  
  We went to a Japanese restaraunt this eve to celebrate my grandson's birthday. He is turning 7 in a week and picked this rest. himself.

  Yes. They are a lot of fun. Have four. My oldest granddaughter just received a certificate from Writers Digest. The story she wrote for school, which I submitted, won an honorable mention. She is 10 ! I'm thrilled for her and very proud. She actually had no idea I submitted it, but her mom knew and ok'd it. She has a lot of talent which she does not yet fully realize.

  wow, really? that's pretty amazing. it sounds like she has a lot of potential. you and her parents should definitely try to encourage her to write a lot more. i bet she'll end up becoming a famous writer someday.

  I have no clue what this girl will end up doing for a living, however, we have been supporting her writing. You know how kids want to do a number of things. Well, she has ADD and so it is difficult for her to follow through with things. But, they write flash fiction/ nonfiction in school and she has written some incredible pieces.
  
  She has such raw talent that I recognized immediately. I listened to her this summer describe this incredible story to me with details for volumes I II and III and was just in awe.
  
  I bought her a pen and composition book to write it down in. She won't type it cuz she finger pecks and she won't let me type it b/c she has to 'revise' as she goes.
  
  I finally got her to write the outline down. I'm so afraid she will 'forget' the story before it is out of her head and on paper. But, she told me today that she still remembers it all.
  
  I'm in awe of her ability and potential. We are all supportive of her and encouraging her to continue with this obvious gift.

  that's cool. well its good she still remembers it. who knows, maybe her story will end up becoming like Lord of the rings, as the guy who wrote that claimed it took him years to plan out that story before he even wrote a single word of the books.
  
  well i wouldn't pressure her too much, as im sure she'll write it eventually. maybe you can have her tell you the story again, while recording it with an audio player or something; just in case.
  
  plus, you can always buy her like a diary or something as a gift, so she can write down her thoughts. this way, she can get a lot of practice too.

  Thanks. She has diaries already, which is why I bought her the comp book and pen. It was very appealling-her favorite colors. And , she likes to draw so there are plenty of pages to do that as well. she has been drawing the characters of the story and has written her story outline. I think she really enjoys it.
  
  I love the idea of recording it. I think I will check into that tomorrow. Thanks. Going to bed now...'night.

  I've been busy at work and taking some meds that make me a little drowsy, but I am feeling better today and should be okay in a few days. Have a long weekend up ahead. It will be nice to be at home for three days.
