I'm Not That Desperate...

   Something funny just happened to me.  I need new glasses and well, I went to click on the RSS feed button on one of my pages (I'd love to tell you which one if you'd like to ask) and instead, accidentally hit the "Join Guru-C's Fan Club" link which opened onto a message that read, "You're Not That Desperate, Are You?"
   
   No, really, I'm not that desperate, though I would if I could :-)
   
   The sector of me that thrives on science fiction wondered if I should take it personally, if everyone received a message tailored to themselves... Maybe some would receive a message like, "Welcome, Welcome, We've Been Waiting For You."  And others, "It's Time For Your Medication."   Yes?  No?  Please let me know if I'm not crazy.

   Just for the record I am joking.
   
   And I too get the same message. I tried it before. I have this habit of clicking on EVERYTHING and wondered what joining my own fan club would do.
   
   But I have an over-active imagination and I imagined that clicking on it and getting the 'desperate' message flagged me and a little bell went off at HubPages HQ and they all gathered around the computer monitor to see who the latest "desperate hubber" was and they'd all laugh and slap each other on the back.

   Darkside, I had that EXACT vision when I *accidentally* clicked to join my own fan club one day.  If I worked at HubPages, I would hope that it would notify us when someone tried to join their own fan club so that we could laugh at them!
   
   That's probably just me though...

   That is too funny.  Guru-C has plenty of fans, I'm so boring I couldn't find a fan in a fan shop (I have never actually tried to join my own fan club though, I'm just too darn boring )

   You guys are all just too funny!! Either that or the half glass of champagne is kicking in!!  I have sooooooooooooo wondered what clicking on the "Join Earth Angel Fan Club" would do!! But being one of those dreadful-always-follows-the-rules kind of people, I resisted!! Until today!! I was soooooooooooo embarrassed!! I felt sooooooooooo exposed!! Thanks guys for dispelling the fear that lights/camera/action were in fact watching my every move!! Okay, no more champagne for me!! Blessings, Earth Angel!!

    Guru-C, First of all you know that I adore you so know that I am indeed a "fan" and for all the right reasons. Love you, love your hubs.
    
    I can't help but think that if I were to try to join my fan club it would be similar to the old Groucho Marx (sometimes attributed to Woody Allen) quote, I would never want to be a member of a club that would have me as a member!
