My stats is no longer showing the number of thumbs up or thumbs down I am getting on any hubs, or even just the totals. The columns are just gone. Am I having a problem, or is this stat something we all can't see anymore?

    Nope, that was the plan.

Its cos of the idiots who were giving tons at once - it was upsetting people to see it. So now they  are no longer visible.

But they still work, as far as I know...

Oh yes, I forgot about that change.

We felt like people were focusing too much on thumbs up and down.  Since the data we displayed to you wasn't necessarily reflective of the data as we used it (in the HubScore calculations), we decided to just remove the totals from public consumption.   We still collect the data as we did before, we're just not displaying it.

You might ask why we don't just display the data exactly as we use it (with fraudulent and dupiclate clicks removed, etc.).   There are a few reasons, but two most important are 1) it would make things too easy for those that try and manipulate their hub scores if they could see when they succeed and when they fail, and 2) it is fairly expensive to do the processing, and would be difficult to keep up with in anything close to real time.

We'll consider restoring them as they were before if enough of you claim straight faced that you found them useful.

I found them pretty useful, personally...

I can ignore the thumbs down - its not like you get false thumbs ups!

Can you bring back just the ups, maybe?

Ah, thanks for letting me know.

Personally, they were freaking me out. If I got a thumbs down it would upset me. I'm probably better off not being able to see the data. I got my feelings hurt quite a bit, it's part of why I stopped writing so much on here.

Veronica  - I wasn't aware of you until this thread, but I have looked at your hubs and I can't believe anyone could give one a thumbs down. Seriously - write some more. Can you get them to keep their shirts on though? It makes me feel inferior. smile

I personaly will miss the thumbs up and thumbs down feature, but I noticed in earlier forum threads that some people were getting freaked out by getting down clicks, and I also realised that the feature could be abused easily,  I think the hub team realised this too and adjusted the hub algorythm accordingly.hiding the stats could be for the best because people who voted thumbs down rarely if ever left a comment explaining why they decided to vote your hub down.
I may have had many a thumbs up and many a thumbs down in alot of my hubs but overall whether up or down votes, they never affected the amount of visitors I recieved to those hubs and more importantly the earnings from them stayed consistant.

The thumbs up/down feature is interesting, but I'm not convinced that it should weigh in as part of the hubscore.

I'm sure that plenty of well written hubs that do attract a thumbs down will be because someone has disagreed with them. And that's not necessarily a bad thing.

It would be a shame if someone had an original, yet controversial, monologue were to find their article pushed down and suffer low hubscore consequences.
