How important are tags to your hubs?
Is the only way to be found through a hub pages search with the use of tags?
Tags are the same things as Keywords. Keyword optimization is king in SEO Tactics. Here's an article I wrote about the value of a tag.
Hopefully,this will help you some.
Tags are really important for a couple of reasons:
1. they tell the search engines what your page is about
2. they create internal links to your pages
This is a very good hub on using tags effectively that every hubber should read; http://hubpages.com/hub/Hubpages-Traffic-Use-of-Tags
I don't know the ins and outs of how hubpages internal search works, but I think several factors are used such as words in text, words in title, words in summary etc. and not just tags.
Tags can be important for people using a search engine to find Internet material on topics. They alert the search engines that you have relevant material on the topic described by the tag.

The tags you put in when creating an article... are those HTML META Tags? Google stopped paying attention to those in like 1999, and I don't think any important search engine uses them -at all-Is there any use in filling them in?
