Am I doing something wrong? My hub score is only 14, beyond average for those who just signed up.
It is my 2nd day here, and I have written 1 article, coming to 2 though, but my Hub score is only 14, which I find it quite intimidating. Is this normal?
Read hubs and leave comments if you wish. Just read read read...... It takes time to build hub score.
No reason to worry, author Hub score is very easy to raise by being active on the website as youmeget suggests. Comment on interesting Hubs, follow authors you like, ask questions, answer questions, participate in forums, Hop Hubs (you can do this by clicking "hop some hubs" after clicking "my account") and of course above all continue writing your own!
By chance, are you trying to get involved by following a lot of people without actually reading their hubs?
If so, read How New Hubbers Ruin Their Hubscore which I wrote several months ago after making some mistakes.

I took the hubpage challenge and completed it. 30 hubs in less than 30 days (just). My hubs are doing okay with almost 300 views and averaging about 15 a day, but no recorded onward orders. I have google adsense and amazon accounts and all my hubs have ads highly positioned. But, despite all that,...
