Do you find that you leave more fan mail for new hubbers you follow?

I find that I leave more now that the window pops up after you click on the follow button. I don't believe it always happened that way, especially when I first joined six months ago...

I know people did for me...and I'm glad they did, it makes you feel welcome and continue to write.  At least in my case.

I like it when people leave me fan mail. I always leave fan mail if I like the persons style of writing

I try to leave fanmail with anyone, if I am touched by his or her work. Sometimes I'll do it after a while, when actually having read their Hubs. Sometimes just based on their profile information.

It's a great way to feel appreciated!

This might sound lazy, but I scan and read what jumps out. For me, it doesn't matter whether the person is new or not. Am I a bad hubber?

Yes, there are a lot of new hubbers coming onto hubpages I find very interesting and am often commenting. But I still have a place in my heart for those who have been here a long time as well smile

I do post more fan mail to newer members of HubPages.  I do post fan mail to authors whose articles I enjoyed to show appreciation, but there are many authors that have plenty of accolades.  I do not stress about posting fan mail as often, but I like to make the other new Hubbers feel welcome and help them start working on their scores.

I leave fanmail any time I read something that is thoughtfully composed, interesting, or makes me think.  Love to give, love to receive as well.  I don't choose the newbies, but am often leaving them fanmail because there are so many good authors out there!  smile

Great question!  Like many of the others I leave fan mail whenever I see something that inspires me.  I leave it to new hubbers because I think it will serve to welcome and encourage.  Hubpages platform allows for thoughtful communication between hubbers and I personally think it is great.  We all (writers) have a passion or a goal and when we get feedback and encouragement it helps us not give up.   Writers, like actors, often have little insecurities that we are trying to run from or hide from the world.  Some of us are better than others but the passion for what we do is still there and is still valid.

I also will send a personal note to a hubber via the contact through hubpages if I miss seeing someone for a time.  Want them to know I miss them and I thinking of them..... just me.
