No it is not a scam.
However, it is not a get rich-quick kind of thing. You need to put in the work, but more importantly, the "right type of work.".
I have recently started to make part-time income on HubPages.
No. I make a fair income here from my hubs. It allows me to buy what I want for Christmas and if my teenager wants to wear Ralph Lauren clothing, the extra cash I make here allows for that.
It takes good writing skills and hard work. The only scam is people thinking that this is a quick fix to their financial problems. But people are always looking for the easy way out.
I guess you asked this question for the benefit of others :-), because I see you have a decent number of hubs and you're here long enough now.
But it isn't a scam and its the best place for a writer. Truly a writers paradise
I don't make any significant money here. Never have, but, my grammar skills, vocabulary and communication skills have gotten better. Nothing is a scam if it helps you to self-improve.
Before I first started writing for hubpages, I researched that very question and can say though I'm not raking in the money here in any way. I see it to be in no way a scam. It's a place where I can share information with others, learn from others and keep writing though I'm no longer in college.
For anyone wanting to make some quick money, it would seem to be a scam, but for anyone wanting to write in a community atmosphere, this is a good site.
Besides being a place for writers where they can publish their works, learn from others writers, and share their experiences Hubpages is also an "opportunity". What we do with that opportunity is up to us.
Its easy to know a scam when you see one. Any website telling you you can make millions in a week, with pictures of a beautiful Ferrari that you could be driving, and they will always ask for signup fees or try to sell you a tutorial to make it happen...HP has none of those
No!
Examples abound of people who have earned fairly from HP. So without much ado, HP is not a scam!
Just like any business, you have to work at it to make money. HubPages gives you the tools and they are honest about it. If you treat it like a business and work at it, doing your research, educating yourself about the rules and terms of service, as well as SEO methods and proper Internet publishing etiquette, then you will make money. This is the real world. Anyone who thinks this is a scam is looking for a get rich quick scheme, but that's not realistic.
Definately not! I agree with most of what has already been said. It's not a get rich quick scheme - but they don't exist anywhere! If you are willing to be patient, put in a lot of good, quality work as well as learning your craft as writer, then Hub Pages can and probably will be a good place to earn fairly good money. But this won't happen overnight - it takes many hours of dedication and motivation to succeed anywhere on line.
All Blogs and social networks scam you for your content. The point is that if you don't make enough money from them or don't get any benefits (like powerful dofollow links) you need to move on unless you simply like hanging around a particular blog even though you feel cheated by it. Yes! Some of us stick around..LOL!
A get rich scheme is a scam which hubpages is not as it takes a lot of hard work and time to really make some bucks. Work on hubpages, as you would in a 9 to 5 job but with the flexibility of working hours and staying faithful to your work will help one earn decently. It takes time but rest assured if you work hard you will succeed.
No hubpages is definitely not a scam as it gives you an opportunity to put your ideas out there with the opportunity to make a little extra money.
Hubpages is definitely not a scam - they are one of the most trafficked websites in the world, and have been in business for many years.
Just like many other platforms on the internet, Hubpages gives its users the opportunity to leverage their platform and earn money based on the contributions that you add to their community.
If you post hubs or content onto the site that no one cares about, then you aren't going to make any money.
On the other hand, if you contribute high-quality content, then you can make some money here.
There may be better places to earn money on the internet, but Hubpages is definitely not a scam.

I was just curious for those of you who write for Medium and/or Substack, how your earnings compare to what you make on Hubpages. Do you think it's worthwhile writing for these sites? I look forward to everyone's insight. Thank you.

I've been online for almost 4 years, 2 1/2 of which have been spent writing for HP. There are a few thoughts I would like to share with my fellow writers that I feel might be helpful to them.First, we should never forget that behind all of the figures are real people. People who seek...

I started writing on this site a few months after my 18th birthday, back in 2018. I'd always loved writing and was excited to hone my skills and share articles with others. At the beginning I was only making a few cents a day, but I remember it being incredibly exciting. A few cents that I'd earned...

I have noticed that, when signed out, there is a new homepage. I am not sure whether the new format is helpful. There are some great hubbers featured making statements on how much they earn from this site, the rewards and a massive video that talks about HubPages. There are also...
