How do you choose what photos to use on your hubs?
I know you want it to pertain to the topic, but do you use any other criteria, besides copyright issues?
Choose the best pictures for your article to attract attention and add color and interest to your layout. Here are tips on how to make the best choices when choosing clip art, free photographs or your own original photos to illustrate your hub. read more
Always use photos that are available for commercial use and indicate share alike attributes. That being said, here is what I look for:
A photo that demonstrates a Key Word or tag that you are using. Then I title the photo with that same Key Word. I either use a Key Word photo capsule title or position the photo to correspond with an appropriate text capsule.
Also see Howard S' recent hub regarding photos. Extremely useful.
Hope this helps.
I started to answer this, but realized I had so much to say that I might as well do a hub on it! You've inspired me to write a hub on the subject: "How to Choose Pictures for Your Hub." It should be in a few hours. Thanks!
Thank you Stephanie and Maralexa for your answers. I like to use bright and colorful pictures to attract attention. I also try to find ones that are easy to tell what they are on the small thumbnails. I try to take as many of my own pictures as I can, although i do find some that are available. I am hoping to take more photos so I can have a library to choose from.

I have been playing with some different layouts as to where I have been putting the photos, amazon ads, and etc. I don't have a lot of traffic. I'm starting to learn about marketing, keywords, and SEO. Even so, I don't have a way to judge how people are perceiving the hubs as far as eye appeal. You...

I opted in to Hub Pro and I just had my first edit. Nothing was changed except to remove three of my four amazon capsules and remove links to other websites that I included to provide supporting evidence for my claims. So I'm pretty proud that the editors didn't feel the need to change, or add,...

When our hubs were once chosen, we had a way to see what was supposed to be fixed before it appeared on a niche site. Now I don't see anything like that. It could be me, but there was a way to see what they wanted added or deleted. It's very frustrating. Yesterday I was told my hub on Zeus, the...
