I have completed three 30 day HubChallenges. One in May, one in late July, and one during the calendar month of September.  In all 3 cases, I  published more than 30 hubs in 30 days.  In fact, in the latest challenge I committed to publishing 45 and I did it.  45 hubs put me at an even 200 hubs.

Now that we've started October, I'm ready for a new challenge.  If you're already working on a challenge I encourage you to continue your challenge and wish you all the best and if you need any help or advice, holler at me.

If you've been thinking about joining the challenge, the time is now.  Come join me. I'd love to have some company.  We can keep each other motivated.

If you're interested, just post a quick note here saying you're interested in starting, but then PLEASE post all of your links to the regular thread that is designed for that.  We like to keep things tidy at the HubChallenge forum.

I'm shooting for 30 hubs in the 30 remaining days of October.

I am disliking you already ... I MEANT to do a 30 day hub challenge and *coughs* never got round to it smile

But I have decided to start  one all by myself in October, so if others are doing it, then great!

Ah, there's a regular thread for it, didn't realise that, I should go and find that then!

I'm interested in the October challenge. Is it too late?

Of course it's not too late! Jump in!  If you prefer, and ONLY if you prefer, the regular hub challenge runs all the time and you begin counting 30 days when you start.  That's just the regular way we do it.  I just started this October challenge myself because I like working on a calendar month.  You can do it whichever way you like.  You can set yourself a goal of so many to do in October.  It can be 30 or it can be another number.  That's up to you.  smile

181 posts in 6 weeks? Who lives here?  LOL

A writer writes everyday.  If you get in the habit of writing every day you can write 30 hubs in 30 days.  There are tons of benefits from doing it, money included.

How'd your adsesnse revenue fair after the last?   (Not specifics, but in general?  Big/med/small increase immediately/over a short period/over a long period)

    1. KCC Big Country profile image72
KCC Big Countryposted 15 years agoin reply to this

My adsense was practically non-existent until the first HubChallenge.  Then it took off.  This past month, I doubled my previous high month.  It took me 10 months to reach my first payout and only 2 the next time.  I look to be making a monthly check now.

Hi KCC, congrats on your success, you are truly a go-getter. Please don't take offense with this question. Aside from the satisfaction of writing, is the few hundred dollars you might earn a month worth the time you obviously spend on producing hubs?
I'm sure a lot of hubbers who have joined recently would like to hear your response.

so i'll rearrange my schedule a bit and give it a go. and this time i will focus on keywords instead of just creative writing, 'cause i want to get good at those...these hub challenges are excellent learning experiences and i highly recommend them.

        good luck everyone! smile

I'm just reporting in that I think I am past the half way mark, but got caught up in other stuff today.  I'll have a quick count as I don't know...  Ah, 19/30 done, but I started alone on 26th September, so I'll keep going and make sure I do 30 in October just so there's no disputing it.

Okay, i need a couple of hours to think about this. Just recovering from the last challenge where i managed to write 35 hubs in 30 days.
But these challenges seem to be the only thing that kinds of motivates me to write enough hubs to boost my income.
The last one has boosted my income. No more $0.00 days now. That im happy about.

    1. KCC Big Country profile image72
KCC Big Countryposted 15 years agoin reply to this

I'm counting yesterday and I didn't produce anything.  I'm just counting it as October.  I like working on a calendar month so I can keep up with what day it is.  So basically, I'm proposing 30 hubs in 31 days.  If you don't count yesterday, no biggie.  Start today.

The actual hubchallenge runs all the time and you can jump in anytime, I just find it difficult to keep up with what day I'm on.  So, what I'm saying is..count from when you want, no one will notice.  smile  I'm excited!  We have a good group!

First of all congratulations to KCC Big Country for 200 hubs. I bet you see an Adsense payment, every month from now on!

LivewithRichard, good to have you back! I was wondering what happened to you.

I've got 30 hubs in 30 days down pat, so I'm going to try for 50 this month. I'm psyched with the new Ebay payment structure. I don't understand it, despite reading all the info two or three times. But I'm liking the results. And it is time to get ready for Christmas. So it's at least 50 Ebay hubs for me this month.

    1. KCC Big Country profile image72
KCC Big Countryposted 15 years agoin reply to this

Thank you, Nelle!  I know you'll have no problem with 50.  I did 45 last month, but I have a lot going this month. I have committed to 30, but I will most likely exceed that total.  I still can't get Ebay to pick me up.  When I try to reapply it tells me that my email has already registered.

Of course you can!  I bet you end up doing more though...but sure, go for 20!  That sucks to have missed it by $5.  I missed my first Amazon payout by 37 cents for July because of one person returning one of their items.  I'll be getting August when they pay it out in October.

      1. rumbling profile image47
rumblingposted 15 years agoin reply to this

In your hub there is a section called tags , there is a box where you can type the relevant tags , there is a very useful link at the top of the forum http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/17849 if you want more information about hub challenges

      2. KCC Big Country profile image72
KCC Big Countryposted 15 years agoin reply to this

Rumbling was just saying that when you are adding tags to your hub (keywords) add "hubchallenge" as one of them.   It allows people to search for hubs that have that and some people have RSS feeds that look for that.  That way your hub will be included.  It just gives you that extra little bit of exposure.

    2. viryabo profile image85
viryaboposted 15 years agoin reply to this

So do we add 2 tags - hubchallenge and Octomber?

      1. rumbling profile image47
rumblingposted 15 years agoin reply to this

There is a topic with what needs to be done in hub challenges at the top of the forum , tagging isn't part of it so you actually don't need to add those tags

    3. KCC Big Country profile image72
KCC Big Countryposted 15 years agoin reply to this

Adding "hubchallenge" as a tag is good enough.  There is nothing "official" about my October challenge.  It's just my way of getting some friends to join me and make it more fun for all of us.  I am sold on the concept and what it can do for you.  I am passionate about showing others what it can do.  All you have to do is try to see.

Sounds like you're off to a great start! Keep it up! If you need me, holler.

I didn't do any on the first day either.  I posted one yesterday and one today.

I promise that you don't need to worry when you don't post one day.  Don't consider it as 'behind' and end up with that frenzied "I have to catch up" mode.  Relax.  Think of it as a school project where 30 hubs are due at the end of 30 days.  You could wait until the 30th day and do all of them.  So why worry?  It does help to post consistently, but I have lots of days where I don't post any.  Then some days I may post 4 I have been working on a little at a time.

Yaayyyyy!  Let's see, 150 divided by 4 is like 37 hubs a month...but like you said you didn't really get going until September...so yeah, you should have nooooooo problem!  You will be glad you did.

Just remember, as you publish a hub (or in groups, doesn't matter) head over to the thread where you can post them.  Not everyone gets to do that, you know.  They don't typically allow you to promote your own hubs in the forums.  The HubChallenge is an official HubPages event.  This is the thread: http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/18049

You can count it however you want.  No one's writing it down and keeping count.  For me, it's easier to use the calendar month so that I always know what day I'm on.

so we have until October 31, not 30 days from the day we accept the challenge, right? if that is the case, i may use the one i wrote yesterday then. thanks! you guys are awesome, have i told you that lately? smile

Let me see if I can explain this without totally confusing everyone.  The ongoing hubchallenge authorized by HubPages is 30 hubs in 30 days and it starts whenever you say it starts.  That's the normal routine that's always running.  We started that in late July. This puts everyone on their own timeline and everyone has to keep up with their own 30 day schedule.

For me, personally, just lil' ol' monkey-faced KCC, I like to run on a calendar month.  That way if it's the 3rd of the month, I know I'm on day 3.  It just so happens that October has 31 days.  So, what I'm doing is really saying I'll do 30 hubs in 31 days.  It's my own challenge.

But, what you may not realize is, I'll probably do the 30 in 20 days and it won't matter whether it's a 30 or 31 day challenge.  I will still write until Oct 31st and see how many I get.  On November 1st I will establish a new challenge for myself.

Since it was the first of October and Christmas is coming, I thought I'd see if anyone wanted to do it with me.  As it turns out, lots of people like my cute little monkey ways and want to dive in!  LOL   (I'm being silly of course).

          Did that help?

OK KCC you talked me into it.  I have been discouraged the last two days because my traffic here on HubPages has just sucked.  It already was kind of wimpy but October has been pitiful.  I was going to focus on eHow and Xomba instead.

But I just like you too much.  I had 90 Hubs at the end of September.  I did one yesterday and have one written for today just want to add a picture before publication.

Since I am getting faster at writing, maybe I can do the 30 Hubs plus some of the other stuff as well.  Just need to figure out the traffic thing.  Thanks for the encouragement.

*jumps us and down squawking like monkeys do*  I'm so glad I talked you into it.  You make a good point, though.  When you participate in the challenges, you DO get better at creating hubs.  It's just the whole thing gets more efficient.  I'm always here for you!  I've been a big fan of yours!

I just joined, so this is new to me... do I have to do anything special to join?

I'm already planning what to write each day!  smile

Anyone have any tips for me that might help me out?

    Thanks!

Welcome to HubPages and welcome aboard the challenge!  There is nothing special to do to join.  There are some great articles that Ryan Hupfer and Darkside have written to help.  http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/17849
      http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/17940
http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/18049 (this one is where you can post your links after you have written your hubs)

Tips?  Set aside a little time everyday to do something, whether it's brainstorming topics, researching keywords, gathering data/pics, or writing your hubs. It is not necessary to post/publish one every day.  Don't get frazzled if you skip some days.  It's not a one a day challenge.

Holler and I'll help if you get stuck or have a question.  There are about half a dozen of us on the HubChallenge team and we all enjoy helping newbies get their feet wet.

Take a break and watch football.  Perhaps the game and/or the commercials will inspire a few hubs.  Take a notepad just in case.  smile

Unfortunately i failed to finish my Hubchallenge in September I only finish 26 four short of the requirement, I guess I was so exhausted and having a burnout already hayz, But I did finish one last August.
HubChallenge did me a lot of favor:
    1. I averaged 500 views in almost one week... and now I'm batting 150 to 300 views...
    2. Three of my hubs was featured.
    3. I was nominated as a HubNugget Wannabe and eventually become a HubNugget.
    4. I gained a lot of fans.
    5. It raised my hubscore to the range of 93 to 99.
6  My Adsense earnings gets a lift.
    7. I get my highest HubScore of 97 in one of my hub...
I wish I could whipped more lil triumphs in the days ahead.

KCC can I still join the HubChallenge this month or the coming month since I did't finish the second challenge...

I'm not KCC, but I say of course you can. I'm sure KCC would extend her monkey paw and say come on in, welcome.

I think 26 hubs is a great achievement, and I'm glad you've seen results because of it!

(KCC, I just read some of your hubs and realize you're a she, sorry for the "he" assumption in my former posts.)
