momster addresses an issue we need to actually stop in our tracks to consider in her hub ~

    "Why Do We Become Fake"

. . . too many and too often we let our lives run ourselves instead of having ourselves run our lives. All of our upbringing and our life experiences, and how we react to them, cause us to build defenses and erect 'safe' personas . . . to protect ourselves from hurt and to feel accepted. soon, we lose our real selves, we act-out the persona that we too often come to think is actually us, we just go through the motions that have become the norm for us. We need to stop, genuinely;y reflect, and find the real us buried down under all the pretenses and performances of what we think others will like - we only have one life, we at least ought to know and live as the true 'us' that we are.

This may not sound as much like a recommendation as it in fact is, but I like CyberShelley's hub ~

"WHAT DOES A SMILE MEAN TO YOU?"

. . . the trouble is, I have rarely smiled for photos, even as a child - and, personally, I would have used either Tony Bennett or Judy Garland's version of "Smile" . . . but, I am recommending her fine hub . . . honest.
