Has anyone had any experience in starting a forum website?
I am thinking of doing this and need some really basic information on how to do it.
I myself don't have experience but that should be a good idea. I like the website menforwomen, though it may not be the greatest example, it is still very interesting. You should do some research and how to do tutorials which are surely available. Sorry for not helping you much. Thanks
I have used phpbb forum templates. They are decent and not hard to use. A Google search for that should help you out.
I am sure you can find information on how to start a forum website from the Google search engine. However, the most important facet in my opinion of beginning an online forum is to safeguard against trolling or personal attacks against participating members. As a general rule, because basically I do not enjoy stressful situations; I do not mingle not even on the Hubpage website that seems nice enough. I experienced an unpleasant online experience on the forum and decided to keep stay with my purpose of writing which is to stay on topics of interest and forego controversies.
I have. If you are going to make a forum try using My BB. It is very easy to use compared to various others, and has just been updated. To register a domain try xhostfire.com they are cheap around £45 for 9months last time I purchased. You can implement things such as cloudshare to help with protection from hackers,DDossing etc. To register for a website as well as a forum register the domain of your choice and contact xhostfire or search on google for a company that you can speak to and work out a deal with them.
A word of warning this sort of work takes up A LOT! of time and usually are hard to get going if you are new. You can always send me a message on here or email me at Adamowen-@hotmail.co.uk if you need any more help sir.

Despite the decline in popularity, message forums are still a great way to network and share information online. Getting started requires you to choose your host, plan your layout, customize the look, and advertise your forum. read more

I have noticed that an increasing number of people seem to have joined this site merely to spam religion on the forum. This would be okay if it was not for the fact that this is a forum for writers, not theists.I am all for having a community forum, but I believe it should be a community forum for...

It is shocking to note that on Google search, the HubPages is displayed with a bad tag "This site has a bad reputation". It is sad and not true. Why they label our site as a bad one. I got this information, when I tried to find the position of some of my articles...
