How can I save somebodies profile pic?

I wish to save somebodies profile pic as a jpg, preferably larger than the one shown, in order to do a suprise tribute hub to them. Dont worry, they would appreciate it, and it wont be too sickly.

I know that there is a way because somebody was on here upset that somebody had used their profile pic in their hub. Although that was a negative experience.

Any ideas?

  I don't think it can be done Ryan, like thranax said really easy sizing down but the other way the quailty turns out really bad, good luck though.

  Yes it can and if you save it as jpeg you can improve the quality of the image with a few tweaks if you are on Vista, just load the pic up and click on "fix" then mess about with the settings, contrast etc.

I suppose that I have to write a tribute poem to somebody now. I might do one in memory of BadCo and CabinGirl..... as a memorial!

  Funny thing you mention BadCo Ryan, I still recall the day I got a message from a newbie asking advice about writing a hub about Zidane, and I told him to go for it.
  
  When I read that newbies hub I was amazed at how much better it was than my George Best hub and even to this day it is my fav hub of that newbie. That newbie has come a long way, jeeez I have watched his progress with interest because of that Zidane hub, someone once said to me stay gold, I like that saying a lot, stay gold Ryan !

  Yeah I remember it well mate, I blogged that hub today.... and was thinking about it then. BadCo had a great run on here mate, brought a lot of people a lot of pleasure.... so I think Im going to do a hub on him! You have entered a new era now, I think that HealthTip can be one of several good niche accounts for you. I know you dont like talking money, but go and monopolise them.... and then maybe BadCo come back and tell us all about it with a few poems
  
  I pretty much run the show on Serial Killers and 'Soccer' here now, they dont make me much, but I have shown myself how to keep my visitors on my hubs. If you find a serial killer hub of mine, or a football hub, its very rare for any of the 'related hubs' to be anybody other than mine. Now that doesnt mean much for my adsense, but if you monopolise hubs on heart conditions.... thats big business!

  Well if it is fake then she should be ashamed, if it is real then she should feel very proud. There is not 'poor woman' in the equation but I do get your point. It doesnt have to be from that site either, could quite as easily be photoshop... maybe I should ask her to send me a few 'verification shots' goodness... im sorry.... im not sure why im being such a perve today.

  I just looked at it too and yea it did look kind of fake from the coloring on the face and the fact that the face is a lot blurrier than the rest of the body. But of course Like you I don't want to accuse her if it is a real pic.

  Don't know if you got the answer you were looking for yet but if not; right click on the pic, click view image, it should pop out and then save it.
  
  You can use photoshop to change the size if you need to but sometimes, depending on the original quality of the pick, upscales don't turn out that well.

  O.K it is possible you have to save the picture by the obvious right click. Then put it through the process of adjustment, for example I just tried with yours it was able to be brought up to 5 times the size then itstarted pixelating, interestingly I could see an exact face. and the buildings were totally diff than when I looked at your avator usually, it was an interestring excercise you will need to adjust colour contrast etc, and use filters to clean up the pixels. As a graphic artist I know that a PNG shot will stay pretty much O.K but these are JPEG and do break up alot quicker than a PNG

If you go to a persons profile and right click on their image and do "View Image" the image is 177px square, rather than the 100px square you see in the forum.

Not all that big, but better than nothing.

You can use image editing sofware, such as Photoshop to interpolate the picture. This will generate more pixels within the image thus increasing the size of the picture.

But it won't work. You are already dealing with a postage stamp sized image to start with, and the information it contains will not be of sufficient quality to make even interpolation worth your time.

You may as well do a hub on BadCo my friend, Eric G has already fed off the name as have others. To be honest I find it both amusing and in a way flattering that BadCompany and Cabin Girl are still even mentioned on the site.

The amusing thing is how some people actually hated them, how some people actually thought they knew them but they didn't not really. BadCo the bad boy with a drink problem and mental problems, you deff have some good material there and hell if you want a better pic drop me your email address and I will post you a few good pics.

BadCo will never return, you killed him !

  Did I really kill him? Final nail in the coffin probably.... but the first ones went in before I even understood hubpages. I wasn't going to make it a negative poem, a tribute normally only considers positives.... You sound a bit aggrieved to be honest mate. I may have killed BadCo, but I certainly did nothing to kill BadCompany99. One had 3 hubs and one had 49. If it would offend you then I wont do it, but most deleted hubbers have tributes. GoldenToad has tributes, and I beat hes still around on another login. If it makes you feel better I will take all ads off of it. It isn't going to be a tribute to BadCo, its going to be a tribute to BadCompany99, and its not pictures of your dating photo that I will need..... googling 'Johnny Depp' will suffice

  Trust me mate, I want that passion back too. I'm doing something at the moment which is exciting me a lot.... so maybe that will help me to regain my spark.   Lol for some reason people still call me Badco in comments to my hubs so no probs there. In a way I regret killing BadCo off due to a few tossers slagging me off. That is what I admire about you, you are one stubborn git, a true Brit lol and I like that even though you support a shitty team.

Disappear completely from the site for a while, wait for everybody to get completely bored on the forum (and that doesnt mean deleting HealthTips, just means not having anything showing in your hubtivity) and then spring it onto everybody by suprise.   Never really got all that either mate to be honest. I am an England fan first and foremost, but I support Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales whenever they play teams outside of the UK. I also support Ireland against any non-UK team too. Everybody else I couldnt give a shit about, but the main thing is that whoever wins a World Cup has won it by playing some good football. The best team won the European Championships, and if Spain play like that again in the summer then they deserve to win it. I dont think I could handle a Germany win though, they are exempt from my impartial and logical thoughts!

Been learning about '66.... wrote a hub about it - in fact, im sure there must be a little passion on that one they were dirty bastards back then as well in the quarter finals. The thing is, they are always gonna be a strong team. I bet the USA will suprise a few people as well, to be honest I think they are under rated so Im not going to begrudge them that... its not like they are going to win it. And we would still turn them over.

  I reckon everyone is creative ta some extent. But lets face it writers aren't known as the wealthiest bunch.
  Bein published doesn't necessarily mean anyone is readin it. Just means someone has given ya some dosh for your work. They pay for almost anything to fill the mags.
  Bit like those jingle writers, give me comedy over a pile of useless info.
  Just my lean on it. Off to drive my Truck. Juggernauts get more than writers, so aren't about to chuck my 50 Hour a week job. Haven't written a single Hub. Still working on the first. Not too many of us'll ever be Shakespeare, but Healhtips, you probably could pull it off.

ryan, I just did two tributes to some of my faves. You can see their avatars on them. I just right clicked on them on their profile and saved as**** on my hard drive. Only one was fuzzy and in no time I corrected it.

  Not sure where you are but check out the newsstands and while your favourites, and the likes of say Readers Digest and Asimov and others are big sellers, check out the smaller titles. Read the fine print too. And read a few issues if you're unfamiliar with them to get a feel for the style.
  
  In Australia there's Take 5, That's Life... mens magazines such as The Picture, People, Ralph, FHM. Brand new magazines can be rich pickings if you can get in early and get to know the editor. But it does take research.

  I will definitely do some research on the magazines...I would love to see one of my stories in print...even if it is just once lol. I do have poems published but that is from poetry.com now turned lulu.com or something totally STUPID like that haha and yea poetry ain't my thing!

  The internet is great for factual content. Educational pieces and stuff heavy on information. Which Art/BadCo/Healthtip/et al would agree with 50% of the time.
  
  Creative writing and poetry doesn't monetize well online. Because it's difficult to get search engine placement. And people are looking for information when they're doing a search. If someone stumbles on a poem it could very well be that they're search for "how to get poetry published".
  
  And if someone does like your poem the chances that they'll want to click on a link for shampoo because the poem talks about 'beautiful shining hair' is very slim.
  
  Acting the goat in a forum is apparently all the rage, but that too doesn't monetize well either.
  
  Having the fruits of your creative talents published in a magazine and see your name is a thrill. Getting paid for it is even better. I'm not sure if poetry magazines pay well or even pay at all. Poetry is not my thing.

  but I will definitely do what you say and research it and work on a short story or stories I should say and see if I can get them published in some magazines.
  
  And yes getting paid for your writing is WAY better lol but for now I would just be thrilled to see my name and story in print and tell my family and friends about it...they all wanted to buy the poetry book my first poem was published in but yea I didn't tell them about it because I didn't want them to have a poem of mine...I want them to have a fiction story from me.

  I agree but trust me I have other avenues in which I make money online, poetry deff isn't your thing my friend, you haven't the passion for it and as for acting the goat on the forums. Do you own hubpages because sometimes I think you actually think you do and that you speak for every member, trust me you dont and I think you will see in the coming months the tide is changing, dont get too cocky oh dark one !

  As much as it rankles you to have your own words used against you, you should look at every time you've told the world that you're going, that you've gone, that you're this and you're that, but keep repeating the same behaviour ad nauseum.
  
  Is it too much to expect that you can have a secondary account that's not an attention seeking sockpuppet?
  
  Maybe HP HQ can make a sub-forum just for you, your imaginary friends and your adoring fans. They could even make you the moderator of said sub-forum. And keep all that pulsating popularity in the one easy to find location.

I just smiled and nodded and though HELL NO! lol I have been drinking caffine a long time and it has never affected me this way so it isn't the caffine.
