Someone else's profile pic is next to MY comments on a hub!

Ironically, the hub it happened on is about Haunted Hollywood.  Perhaps the hub itself is  haunted?  Whatever, it was quite a shock to find I've turned into an older gentleman, albeit a rather nice looking one, that I don't recognize.  Oddly, this is the only hub where I don't appear as "me" and my profile isn't affected.

Here's the hub, although it might correct itself by the time the Team sees this topic: http://paradise7.hubpages.com/hub/Haute … od-Part-II

    Verrry weird...

UPDATE: Whatever glitch caused my hitting "Submit comment" to pull a man's profile pic instead of my own has apparently fixed itself and I'm "me" again. Big sigh of relief! But what a lesson in how perfectly sane people get hauled off to the funny farm, as in "No, there really WAS a man there!". cool

Okay, it's not ONLY on the Haunted Hollywood hub, it's on all hubs where I've left a comment today, even on one of my own.  But you can see it's not happening here in the forums.  How is this possible?????????

Just to update you on this - all three profile pics next to your  3 comments on the hub you have linked to here - show the picture you have in this forum when I took a look at it.

I also saw the same pics as on your forum avatar. Do you still see another pic?

Yes, still seeing the gentleman's prof pic, so as I said in another reply, I'm going to shut everything down and come back a little later. cool

How weird! I'm still seeing the same gentleman's avatar.  Think I'll sign out and go completely offline, then come back.  Thanks!

Not to be spooky (or "alarmist") here, but within the last week or two another Hubber had a hacking incident where her a lot of stuff was done with her account, including her picture being changed.  (I'm not suggesting something like that happened with your account - only mentioning that's one way that kind of thing can happen.)  If you haven't done this, you may want to look at earnings info on here, and make sure it looks like it's set up to go to you.

    1. JamaGenee profile image78
JamaGeneeposted 12 years agoin reply to this

That was my first thought too - a hacker.  But couldn't see how my avatar could remain stay the same on my profile but be somebody else ONLY next to comments on hubs. As for my earnings, if someone is THAT desperate for the piddly amount in my account, they're welcome to it. cool

    JamaGenee,

Last weekend, (Friday to Tuesday) I was having major problems with my ISP (again!) It was a widespread problem with all their customers in my area and meant my Internet signal was very weak. When I viewed Hub Pages, I could see text only and no pictures. It looked very different! smile

I know your issue is slightly different but do you maybe have a weak Internet signal that is simply corrupting the pixels in your own photo?

Clutching at straws for you, I know - but not impossible! smile

    1. JamaGenee profile image78
JamaGeneeposted 12 years agoin reply to this

Thanks very much for the straw, but even with the weakest signal, my avatar couldn't possibly pixelize into an elderly gentleman with white hair standing at the side of a lake with pine trees in the background. cool

I don't see the old, handsome man either.  It's your picture in the hub's comments.  That's tooooo weird!

No... it's just a photo glitch.  I blew it up as much as I could, but it's not a MAN!  That wasn't what she was referring to anyway.  She meant the entire picture was changed and displaying a man.  You and AEvans must be in cahoots (or enjoying some cocktails!).

Nope... Definitely not there on my screen... Is this entire thread a little bit of a wind up, crossing Halloween with April Fool's, highlighting all the suckers that fell for it in next week's newsletter...??? lol

Really, this began as a TOTALLY serious thread to report a REAL problem. No prank.  No April Fool crossed with Halloween.  But since it has now devolved into one great romp at my expense, TGIF! Cheers! cool
