When you set the "vacation" setting on emails, you do still get "notifications" under your account?
I believe you can set up a notification of on vacation , out of office, etc for your contacts list ...I usually notify " CL " by e-mail ahead of time...however, as far as spam or other e-mails I don't believe they get the notification , due to possible security risk...I've never really used it as it deemed unnecessary ( now retired ) as I receive e-mail usually from known responders..my spam may consist of 5-10 daily...I will be watching for others who have had more experience with this issue...very interesting question...
Thanks kj, I appreciate the answer. I do know how to set the "vacation," but I just wanted to know under "account" next to your hubber name, if will flash up all your notificatoins, so I want to be sure that still does that while on vacation.
I did this once. You get no emails or notifications by email, but you do get notifications by Hubpages if you log into Hubpages to get them. Hope you have a great vacation. You will love your empty email box but miss all the people who are sending them, I am sure. We'll miss you too, Faith Reaper!

Yes, I do see those who have sent emails to me. They, though, receive a notice telling them that I am not in until such-and-such a date.
I guess I'm rather silly as I just let them mount up and then it takes me ages to catch up when I return, but I'd hate to miss anything someone sends that might be interesting.
Thanks Bloosom, that is how I am, but now I have over 4,000 emails and I have not been on vacation, except for those six weeks I was away for surgery! I know we can delete once we read them, but I like to see what others are also saying too!!!

When I checked my email this morning, I had 5 emails from HubPages telling me someone had replied to my forum posts - including myself in 2 (at least some]/i] of the emails contained multiple post notifications).I can handle not being notified of this new feature, but I'd seriously like to know why...

I notice a tremendous (to me) lag time between when I receive the notification of a post to a thread I'm following and when it actually appears in the post. It's not only a recent observation since the site upgrade and PANDA concerns. Anyone else have this?

I noticed that I have not received one notification from HP since yesterday at 11:55 a.m.! I am not receiving any notifications on hubs I have commented on or newly published hubs from hubbers I follow. Is anyone else having this trouble? I have typed my email address in again...
