People get to know you as an expert in that subject. You become the go-to guy.
If you are interested in a niche subject, you probably know more than the average person, so you can probably write in depth, and fairly easily off the top of your head.
You can link the niche posts - leading to lots of traffic and earnings.
Search Engines then consider you an expert on the subject and tend to rank your articles higher which ultimately leads to more page views, which leads to more money.
To write a good article on any subject requires research which tends to lead to acquiring more information on any given subject. Because most author's that write on one particular subject have a passion for the subject it comes out in the writing, readers identify with this and will remember, often referring back to the author which may lead to links and references.
Also by writing many articles on one subject shows dedication and determination which is easily recognized by your peers.
