Why are my views down to almost zero?
From an average of 200 page views per day a few months ago, my views are now down to almost nothing! Why is this happening?
Have you been interacting with other hubbers? It would be a great idea to comment on other hubs. This will help drive traffic. I also have a hub if you would like to read it. It is about traffic. http://graveyard-rose.hubpages.com/hub/ … og-Traffic
My views just plummeted from close to 400, down to about 40. This website is a shambles and I am getting really tired of it. People keep saying, have you tried this that and the other? Its nonsense. The viewing fluctuates for no reason. Internal comments on hubpages, the amount of people following you, the people you follow etc are not relevant. Google is the one providing close to all of my views.
The stats for HP on Quantcast.com are 4 days old but us expanded over a three year period seem to show a long term drop in traffic. Sometimes you can see why views fluctuate but normally it seems random resulting from a fickle public.
HubPages has lost about 33% of their writers over the past year, and more are deleting their accounts each week and removing their Hubs. Check out the discussions on this topic. HP better do somethng soon, or this ship may sink.
"There are some issues with traffic data collection over the last 10-12 hours, causing hub traffic statistics to be under reported during that time. A fix has been deployed, and we expect the data to normalize soon."
I checked Quantcast.com, and the stats for HubPages aren't as bad as I expected them to be. They peaked in late 2010, and have been all over the place since then. Generally down for 2012, but rebounding lately.
Check your account. It is explained, as cfin has cited.
It's google. If you check out the forums even the best of hubbers are having issues in the last few months.
Yeah...from 800 a day...it's down to 200...Google seems to be implementing major updates these day..
Several of us had a huge drop, literally overnight. The only thing to do it to wait it out, keep writing good hubs, and update things to keep them fresh.
I have no intention of flogging a dead horse, but the question is when is is truly dead?
I agree Marcy. I have seen fluctuating views but my income overtime has increased ten fold. Not making double zero's yet but I see results when I create positive hubs. Most of my views are from google so I don't think they are the problem.
Hi Marcy,
My traffic for the past 9 months has been like a roller coaster, we truly have no control over our traffic, especially if most of it comes from Google, like mine
It appears to be random, or at least the result of things we can neither observe nor effect. Most people are hit.
My GUESS is that its a mixture of Google's actions, Hub Pages inappropriate responses and the changes they made over the last year or so, like the new Profile and maybe subdomains.
Take comfort: a sudden drop of traffic has nothing to do with the quality of your writing.
My views are nowhere close to yours (or should I say what yours were!) but I notice traffic building steadily, even if I make the smallest changes. I am a newbie, so my word doesn't count for much, but seems to me this is a good time to look at your ratings, and tweak some of them as a personal challenge. See if that makes a difference.
Newbie's words count and yours make so much sense.
Up to a point I agree with you but my point is that if traffic falls suddenly it is unrelated to the quality of the work, once you have eliminated things like spelling errors. I have been tweaking hubs since this started to no effect.
My traffic is down a little but I haven't experienced any big traffic drops for several months. I don't know why some people are being affected by Google changes and not others. I wonder if certain topics are getting hit harder.
Many times, like it has happened today, it is some technical bug. If you want to know the true page views, I would suggest that you go to Google Analytics which HubPages links you to and check. While my page views too showed a drop, but in Google Analytics, the actual pageviews show up!
I suggest reviewing all your hubs and tweaking the ones with low traffic such as using title turner. My hub traffic has ebbed and flowed too.
Mine are due to the christmas drop off I think. Managed to be hitting 1,000-1,200 for 2 weeks over Christmas, down to 200 now. But I know its because a recipe and a few gift hubs were mental on the week build up. Maybe yours has something to do with that too?
It's due in part to a seasonal drop off that happens every year in late December and early January. You will see a gradual recovery over the next few weeks. At least this has been the case for me for the last few holiday periods.
I have been having the same problem all week. However, the my stats right now show that My views haven't been updated in 118 minutes so hopefully I'll have a few more visits when they update it. I've only earned .36 cents so far this week. Sad!
I have noticed a swift decline in traffic and thus a swifter decline in adsense earnings. No clue what is going on.
If you have been promoting your hubs online AND offline and have been updating your hubs and providing fresh/rich content then there are obviously other factors at work, possibly search engine or even HP changes. However, I did take a fairly long break and my views were practically nonexistent during that time. If you take a break and this is combined with changes that outside your control, your views will dry up.
If it is just today, check out this forum thread http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/108199
I really wish I knew how to answer that. My traffic has been increasing in the last few days. I'm so shocked. Then again I've been really building my online following on Twitter and Facebook. Perhaps they are to blame. Everyone hits a slow spot. I have to be honest. Sometimes it'll lull for a moment and then you'll get a spike back to the norm. If you're creating good content, don't worry about it. Your traffic will return.
It's amazing how most people seem to have an answer to this rapid decline in traffic that most Hubbers have been experiencing over the past months. However, all these answers are merely speculation - Nobody seems to know exactly the reason behind this Roller Coaster trend in traffic. Only Google and Hubpages know the facts!
That is good question, I had 203 page views on one Hub yesterday and 130 on the same Hub today and yet my total views for that Hub sits at 250, some one doesn't know how to add.
I went from 575 page views yesterday to less than 200 today, something is definitely wrong.
Some of it could be that you were having inflated views from your hubs being in the hub hopper and being reviewed by peers. That will last a week or so.
Mine has dropped a pile overnight, my earnings for the last few days do not reflect the views. Not sure what has happened, but oh well, just keep persevering! Just checked again, and all my hubs are way down. Something wicked this way comes!
My views are also way down. All I see is blue arrows. They were going up so nicely. I look at them today and I'm shocked.
I have been getting more red arrows recently than before the drop in traffic. But still an overall drop in traffic and earnings. Also HP seem to be going crazy idling hubs.
This is the first time I have been hit like this and just as In was starting to make some decent money.
anytime its looking good for us google always seems to disapprove and snag us back down. How sad...
My traffic has dropped according to the stats, but I've noticed that I'm receiving comments on hubs that have zero traffic. Something is hinky with the system today!
My guess is that it is something either HP or Google is doing or doing together. My views are down by one-half as of today...part of the nevering-end inability to leave well-enough alone around here. ~WB
Mine are the same and I have just asked the same question. All of my main hubs for views are showing blue triangles identifying them as being down on traffic. There must be a problem at HP or Google.
I think that quality content will give you more score. Another thing is the participation in forums. Try and see if it helps.
Hubpages just announced an error in tracking and promised a fix soon.
This is the message from HP's that should be above your stats in red:
There are some issues with traffic data collection over the last 10-12 hours, causing hub traffic statistics to be under reported during that time. A fix has been deployed, and we expect the data to normalize soon.
I can't answer this question. Is there someone that you can contact on the staff of hubpages.com?
Have there been newer articles written on your topics that are showing up first in search engines? This is something I would look into. Perhaps the search engines pull up newer articles on what you have written on.
Check that out, that is what I would suspect.
Look at your account page and you'll see a notice in red that says:
Jan 8, 11am PST - There are some issues with traffic data collection over the last 10-12 hours, causing hub traffic statistics to be under reported during that time. A fix has been deployed, and we expect the data to normalize over the next 24 hours or so.

As Per HubPages Announcement, (this should be showing up at the top of your "my account" page in red);

Hi,Around a week ago, (could be longer, I don't always check), I noticed that my daily page view figures had suddenly plummeted from several hundred to just tens. Of course this could be explained away by an overnight drop in my hub popularity - except for the fact that I'm also getting...

As per the new changes HubPages has made, I was required to make a few changes to the amount of Amazon products I was showing. I lowered the amount of products to lower than an average of 1 per 50 words on the hubs that HubPages has penalized. Furthermore, on hubs that weren't penalized I got rid...

people are saying they have had a dramatic loss in traffic, what I am wondering is how much traffic you normally receive on average per hub. just divide the amount of hubs you have with the hits received and let me know. Im just wondering whether its better to use a blog to do articles rather than...

As stated, I've been on hubpages for around 7 months and have 23 published hubs. I have only had around 2050 total views. I know things take time, but I'm curious if there is someone with close to the same member time and hubs so I can compare my numbe rof hits and maybe go back again and see...

I have an article which is always is popular, but in the last few days it's getting around 1,000 views a day. It's a pretty old one too. I'm happy, but don't understand why now? Does this mean someone posted it on social media and people liked it?

My HP traffic down since last three to four days and it's a matter of great concern for me. I have already written 50 hubs for the contest but still I am not seeing the traffic that I was seeing post google algorithm change. Is there anyone else who is facing the same problems. I have started...
