Mine have not. But apparently this did happen to a number of people in the last few days. There was a notice in red above your ratings saying that there had been a stats problem, but that has gone now.

Yes, I agree with you, Vickiw.

You're certainly not the only one; that's for sure! I'm seeing a significant drop in views. I can't figure it out and can't do anything about it. Oh well, I'm not going to worry about it. This hub thing is either going to work or it's not. That's my new attitude so I won't get all depressed and stressed out over it.

My hubs' views always follow a pattern: - quite a few (in my estimation) when first published; and then tapering off, sometimes to be re-discovered off and on, but never the same as at first.

I am more concerned with the quality of comments than the quantity of views anyway, though, so it's ok.

that's b/c you got views from followers, but never from google. my pattern was the other way around... nearly none at first (just a few) and then once my hubs hit page 1 for the targeted keywords a ton of google traffic... until now

I'm not set up with Google.  It's not my target.  I'm not concerned with key words, just quality writing. But it's amazing that your traffic has suddenly changed so.  Odd.

I think if you look at where your Hub views are coming from there are a lot of other hubbers looking at you page.  Once read you must rely on Google and any other promotion you do like face book and twitter.

Mine have not, but I have only been at this for a month.  How long have you been on hubpages?  I am only averaging about 50 hits a day, with sometimes way lower or higher, but i think that is just a result of random viewership that will inevitably change from day to day.  I enjoy your hubs though!!

One of my hubs was at 300 a day.  Now it is at like 20

My Page views have gone from about 1,200 a day to about 400 so that is more like 65% but yes it is a significant drop. Big Brother Google (the NAZI internet police) have hammered Hub Pages for allowing us writers to write about what ever we feel like.

As anyone knows that has ever tried to use Google to research the truth, this censorship machine uses all sorts of tactics to prevent the public from learning the truth.

Their favorite tactic is suppression where they put articles that they have been emphatically told by The Powers That Be should never see the light of day on page 399 of 400, while listing the same story over and over again from page one to page 399.

Google sucks but we pay the price because they have the monopoly, welcome to reality!

Hello somethgblue, with 1,200 page views per day, how much do you usually earn from HubPages each month?

    2. somethgblue profile image74
somethgblueposted 10 years agoin reply to this

Between fifty and seventy dollars a month, I reckon when I get to about twice the number of Hub articles ( currently 138) I will I should be earning in the hundreds, that's the plan anyway.

HP had this problem (statistics not showing page views) this week and they have issued a statement yesterday to that effect and that they had resolved the issue.  The statement said that page view statistics should be back to normal levels within a few days.

Mine are back to about 80% of their usual total.

Mine were down 99% for a whole week - up until yesterday when they had a nice spurt but seem to be back down by 98% today.

Mine dropped from 250+ page views daily to less than 20 when google changed its terms couple of months back and I came to know that Hubpages have gone down in google valuations.. so I am kind of looking at new sites for my new blogs

My hub views have dropped 27.2%, not nearly as high as your 80% but still a drop.  Sometimes if I go and check my hubs, I find that sometimes I have missed a spelling or typographical error either within a title or within the main body of one or more hubs.  Outdated material or structurally unsound hubs lose traffic as well, updating hubs or adding pictures when ever possible helps bring the hub score and traffic back to normal.  If you have not written a new hub recently, hub traffic and scores tend to stagnate and drop as well.  I currently have several unfinished hubs that could be reducing my score and traffic as well, but I do not know if they have an impact or not.  Hopefully more experienced hubbers will provide you with more insight and information.  There are tutorials that may be able to help you as well.

I haven't figured the percentage, but I've seen a dramatic drop this week. As someone else noted, it probably has a lot to do with the glitch we were told about (the notice in red that was plastered above our ratings for a few days). Things seem to have improved now, and I hope we're all going to see things go back to normal, or better.

Mine dropped about 50% around the 22nd of Dec. but have climbed most of the way back up.

My working hypothesis is that it was the holidays but others have also mentioned a google update.

yep - i had 1 hub getting 40 views a day for more than 3 years (on the top of page 1 for the targeted keyword). now it gets 2 or 3 per day since the sept 28th update, no where near top of page 1 now...

See I was rising in Sept and Oct.... so.... My guess is that if it update you mention did effect me then it wasn't to the same extent.

Mine are pretty normal... Have you confirmed the traffic loss in google analytics?

  14. iviskei profile image71

Everytime google does some kind of update, it really messes with the hubpages views. I'm not sure if that is what is happening now, but it has happen before.

Mine have too, and I have no idea why.  My rating is always mid 90s but my page views go way up and way down.  As soon as the red warning about not correctly counting views came up, my page views have been way down ever since

Personally I have had a drop in numbers and it doesn't seem to be getting better.  Yesterday I had the worse day in two months.  This is not only on this channel but I also have a Facebook page which has had a number poor views since well before Christmas.  My Twitter account while still growing is slowing down as well. Is it a Google update?  Maybe but then again why would all of my channels, especially Facebook get fewer views?  It may be a combination of things, including less surfing.

You're not alone, trust me. My hub views went down from 40-50 a day (from 10 hubs) to 10-20 a day.
