Hubs not ranking on google?

   Hubs not ranking on google?
   
   Hope someone can provide some insight. I'm new here and haven't really been able to spend too much time so far.
   
   Yesterday, while looking for a keyword, I noticed that a lot of squidoo lenses were ranked in the first pages of various keywords, but no hubs. So as an experiment,  I tried using a wide range of different topics randomly trying  to see if this was prevalent.
   
   After about a couple hours and over a hundred searches, I barely saw a few, less than 5 that were in page 1.
   
   Is my observation incorrect? And where does most of your visits come from, other hubbers, or elsewhere?

   Welcome to HubPages!  Looking at your profile page, it seems like you're off to a great start.  If you understand SEO and keyword research you should have no trouble ranking here.  HubPages is a pretty strong platform, comparable to Squidoo, though I think they are a PR7 and HP a PR6.  And, to answer your question, almost all of my visits come from search engines.  :-)

   Good to know. Thanks for the reply. I'll try to figure out the SEO thing and keyword research.
   
   As an additional question, as hubbers does adsense or amazon provide better results?
   
   I have no idea about this, and am using my own amazon affiliate only at the moment. I didn't check any of the other options because I wasn't too sure how they worked. And also read you need 6 months before getting an adsense account.

      You need Adsense to participate in the HP earning program.   You can use Amazon too.  Most Hubbers use both.  Check out the learning center and it'll tell you all the ways you can monetize your Hubs.

   It will work the same as any web page. Mostly good unique content, keyword selection and of course quality organic links to your hub. You have to remember that age is also a factor as Google places emphasis on some pages that have been around a lot longer - thought this might explain some of the squidoo lenses since they may be older. Just my two cents anyway
