Do you regularly check if your Hubs have been copied/pasted by others?
This week I ran some text from 3 of my Hubs in google and found 6 pages (4 of them Blogspot pages) had been copied and pasted as someone elses blog. I have reported each case to the relevant website, and it was a little time consuming, as well as contacting each blogger to ask that they remove my copyrighted work. My profile holds a copyright warning, as well as most of my Hubs. It's quite frustrating. Just wondering if other Hubbers also check for this regularly? On of the copied Hubs was actually ranking higher than my original Hub!
I really never even knew people did this! Ran some because you said something about it but luckily, or not, my articles aren't that popular and have gotten no such copying. Nope, its still just me and that! Writing lone and yet I still get all these fancy awards after time.
no, i haven't check. You mean if i type in my hub title at google and appear at someone else page?
Either. I used text and found they had also copied my title. There is also a Blogger posting as "StrickltyDating on Hubpages" - That is the exact title of their blog but in that case the postings are their own, but nothing to with my writing or HP!
I have never checked but I can't imagine anyone copying anything I wrote .
It's a good idea to check regularly. I had one hub I found two weeks ago that had been copied 7 times... either in whole or in part, not even an attempt to reword/rewrite etc. - Pitiful.
DMCA complaints are pretty effective, one blog is taken down already and another person removed my content immediately and even apologized lol. I filed 20 DMCA's in a week it was very disheartening. If you don't stay on top of it though, fraudsters will keep doing it.

I have to thank him for identifying and locating this blogger's profile here. It seems he has about 40 blogs on a...

About once a week I peruse my hubs to check on traffic, comments, and just generally see how things are going. One of my hubs, "What Are The Benefits of Eating Bananas," had the copyright symbol next to it. I know from past experience that this means hubpages has found my content...

I'm very grateful to Hubpages for putting the little red C on our dashboards to warn us when our content has been copied. It didn't take me too long to hunt down the content thieves on a couple hubs and send out DMCA notices. The offending copies were on blogspot, so I assume Google will zap them...
