How do you make a screen shot within a page?
When you want to show an page within a page; how do you accomplish that? I see it done all the time.
I know how to do this on a PC so apologies if you were talking about a Mac.
1. Click on the Start button in bottom left hand corner.
2. Click on All programs, then Accessories folder. Snipping Tool is the one you want.
3. Double click on the Snipping Tool and the screen will fade slightly.
4. Drag the mouse over the area you want to copy and then it will appear as an image which you can either copy and paste somewhere or save as an image to keep permanently.
Hope it helps:-)
Yes, I'm working with a PC. Oh you make this sound so easy. I'll be experimenting and see if I can repeat this. Thank you so much! :-)
An easier approach is to use either
Alt-PrtScrn
or
Ctrl-PrtScrn
The Alt method captures the window which currently has focus, while the Ctrl method captures the entire screen.
After you use either of these two-key capture methods, open your favorite graphics software (mine is Paintshop Pro, but I sometimes use Windows Paint or Paint.Net), and paste (Ctrl-V).
Hope this helps.
Ha, I was thinking, "well, I know where Alt is and I know where Ctrl is, but what is that PrtScrn?" I didn't know that button existed on my computer. Thanks for allowing me to wipe the dust off a button that I never noticed before. I grow every day!
I'm glad to have these answers - hoping someone will post the Mac Screenshot instructions!
If you use Google Chrome as your browser, you can get an extension called Light Shot. It allows you to take a screenshot of whatever is on your screen even just small parts if you want to.
Georgie,
Awesome. That is good to know. I've been fiddling with Google Chrome lately and considered using it more regularly. I'm overwhelmed by the concept of starting from square one, so this will absolutely be helpful! :-) Thanks
Try the Awesome Screenshot extension for Google Chrome. That's what I use. It's easy to use and it works very well.
Ha, I was thinking; "I will, what is it"?, thinking you had left out a link or something, but alas, I "Googled" Awesome Screenshot and see what you're talking about, lol. This seems very cool. Thanks

I need to capture my desktop tabs on a screen shot for an upcoming hub. How can I take a shot of my screen other than a video. A video would be easier for me. Pros and cons of a screen shot verses a video? Or should I have both for the reader?

I felt like the first time I used a video camera. But this hub on The Sims 2 has my first screen shot. Yes my first screen shot ever online.http://hubpages.com/hub/Playing-The-Sims-2-with-My-SonI should have done it in the middle of playing the live mode but at that time had not yet...

Is taking a screen shot of lets say the homepage of hubpages. Is that a legal way or a good way to stay out of copyright problems?
