Do free range chicken eggs also have the salmonella danger?

Since they don't eat meat I just wondered?

Free range chicken eggs are not free from salmonella risks.

That something is perceived to be healthier than similar versions does not eliminate it's susceptibility to bacterial or viral contamination.  All meat and dairy products have the potential to spread salmonella, and can do so when improperly stored and handled.

Guess that makes sense Bob; am sure all food does have a potential to spoil and harm us just thought maybe free range was some what safer. Glad to know though to never second guess it. Thanks!

There is always a certain level of risk for salmonella, but studies have shown that industrial, mass-produced poultry products have a higher risk for bacterial contamination.

I recommend viewing the documentary film "Food Inc." if you have not already done so. It's an eye-opener with regard to the problems that industrial farming has caused.
